Starting nights tommorro for the first time in months. 6 pm too 6 am so need to stay awake tonight so I have a lie in.but I fooking dozing already. You night owls must have some tips

No no,as cute as he is,having a saliva drenched ball flung at my face at 3am is annoying and tiring. I hid it the other day and he brought in a chip for me to throw. I have no idea where he had stashed the chip or how old it was. Other times he brings a sock. The worse thing I have woken up to is a manky teddy,covered in wee,mud and God knows what from the garden,resting on my face. The smell woke me up.

I've done 12 hour shifts since I was 19.

If I'm starting nights I go back to bed around 1 or 2pm get up at half 3.

And once the first night is done I get home and into bed for 7am, sleep till 3.30pm and away we go again.

Keep busy is the best advice whilst at work

Best thing is to go to sleep whenever you feel the need tonite, get up as usual and grit your teeth through your first shift. With any luck you'll be knackered when you get in which may help you sleep through day, as that's something else you need to adjust to.....welcome to the night

Stay on the computer or play games console. Time seems to fly by and you don't feel sleepy because of the light it emits.
