I am watching Adele on the Beeb and I am a child of the prog rock era and her art doesn't really feature in my world but we have similar origins and there is something refreshing about her opinions whether you happen to agree with them or not. For those who don't remember you are allowed to do so beacause of the sacrifice given by those in yesterday year and those who protect our rights today. The system is not perfect but normal sensible people do not express differences like those idiots and cowards in Paris last Friday.

Sorry I digress. However I am lucky to travel the world with my work but my home town is Manchester and in the wind and the rain ( typical Manchester ) I wondered around my home town today. I looked at the architecture and the history and it made me think that this little island is the best place on earth. We have our numerous problems of that there is no doubt but home town glory nothing quite like it!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I saw a film made about my home town bit of London in 1980 when I was 15. I've only moved 4 miles up the road (but in London that's a whole different area and vibe).

I love this country and enjoy discovering new places here.

I spent my first 10 years living abroad, my dad was born and raised in Hong Kong, I went to school in Henley on Thames but feel my parents could have chosen to live anywhere in England so although I love living in England I have never felt anywhere was particularly home hence why I probably chose to support a football team from a city I have no connection to.

I'm afraid I have no romantic memories about my home town as it's a shit hole! I was bloody lucky to escape and the only way I'd return is in a wooden box.

However due to happy memories of childhood holidays in Cornwall. ..I'd say that is where my heart is.

I do love the west Country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. X

I love to walk the beach at perranporth, Holywell bay, and crantock its my escape but Manchester is the place that I come home to

Funnily enough I'm living in the house I grew up in - I convinced my parents to give it to me and moved them out in to a smaller property.

I live out in the sticks 25 north of manchester,but travel to work in man city centre every day,i love the buzz of the northen quarter but i like the rolling hills of my home town,plus my local pub is 30 secs away with real ale

Another manc in exile here.

I moved around a little a a child, not really fussed about where I live as as result, and possibly more relaxed about travelling socially as well.

But I always appreciate going back. The first time I drove back to the area I grew up in, I instantly could navigate my way around, despite having left when I was 11.

I stayed put for the first 21 years of my life, I grew up in a nice little village in Kent, I love going back, walking around, remembering my childhood.

Now I've moved about a few times, my current 'hometown' is lovely but will never feel the same as where I grew up

I was born and bred in Colwyn Bay , a tourist town that had seen better days .

Spent most of my teenage years with my pals drinking beer on the prom ny the pier. ( love the stereophonics song local boy in the photograph, reminds me.of my teenage years)

I now live three mile down the road in a small rural village. I still go to the Bay. My folks live across the road from.where I was born.

I wil always be a Colwyn bay lad .

Nee investment has created an amazing new beach and fantastic sports facilities in the park . Its great to see the old place looking good again
