Iv seen several people from Nottingham in the forums. Just a quick question. My daughter is moving to Nottingham in the new year. I myself have visited there a lot, only shopping or nightlife. Where are the best areas to live in or around Nottingham. Not looking too far away from the centre as that's where she will be working. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanku

Nottingham is a big student city, so many areas near the centre are studentsville. It's also got quite a few bad areas - but Mapperley is nice and Sherwood much better than it was Avoid St Annes, Leinton and The Meadows!

Now the new trams are running the areas out towards Clifton and Toton/Chilwell are very accessible if she is working in the City Centre.

Beeston, Long Eaton, Chilwell are all serviced by the Tram as well. Beeston has some good pubs and restaurants* and has a lot of student type accommodation as the University Campus is there.

*Best Vegetarian Restaurant in the county as well

the alley cafe in town, veggie, vegan, gluten free, awesome bar selection and they have dj's playing chilled sounds.

they often have the mighty Highness Soundsystem featuring Rigby Deep playing the hotest reggae tunes in the courtyard.
