Junior doctors/refugees

So our junior doctors are going on strike due to poor working conditions...these wonderful people sometimes work 7 days a week often with no break because the NHS doesn't have enough funding...Cameron is allowing 20,000 refugees into the UK - personally, I think this is outrageous! We should be sorting out our NHS, care of the elderly, helping the homeless and looking after our ex servicemen. Thoughts?

Doctors have just been given an 11% pay raise

I work for the NHS and 70+ hour a week is normal for me, all the extra people will just mean a bigger work load as that an extra 20,000 needing treatment plus the kids they will have now they are here, but they won't build extra hospitals, surgery's or get extra staff to cater for this, in the long run everybody suffers

Isn't it an 11% pay rise but at the loss of unsociable hours shift rate so actually a loss?

What about abused kids?

Do we care about kids in this country, but not the refugee kids?

Doesn't that mean we're more interested in postcodes than people?

£900m spent on the foreign aid budget, where does it end? We've spent years paying back the defecit to get our head above water again - I just don't get it!

I saw at least 8 homeless people on my lunch break today, its heartbreaking, why arent they getting help?

Totally agree

I have no problem with people coming into the country but what the government have to realise is in order to accommodate them we need more hospitals, more GP surgeries, more schools etc which they don't seem to be doing

How do you know they haven't been offered it?

where the road goes on forever

I was told that to start a fight discuss politics, or religion, i agree that instead of taking in more people housing them, feeding them , and medical care spend it on " our " homeless

I buy a coffee for the guy by the train station who sleeps in a doorway on a cardboard box, he says the YMCA is always full and gets a bed 2-3 times a week

Drs have been given a 11% pay rise but will loose around 25% of unsociable hours so it's not a pay rise at all they will loose out.

Freezing weather tonight.

I blame the refugees. How are we supposed to wrap up warmly and turn on the heating with all these terrible IS refugees stealing our kittens.

Wibble.

If we weren't taking 20,000 refugees would the money it's going to cost be diverted straight to homeless people, the NHS etc .?

Whether we let 20000 refugees in r not, Cameron and his cronies will still fuck over junior doctors and the rest of the NHS for that matter.

And while I don;t see how the 2 topics are in anyway linked, it;s worth remembering that the NHS would be fucked without migrant workers

At last.

A sensitive point of view presented in a concise and persuasive manner.

I think we should be sorting all the things you mention AND taking the refugees in.

if 80% of homeless people didnt use smack perhaps the taliban and isis wouldn't have as much funding and the refuges wouldnt come atall.

and the doctors wouldn't be so busy.

and the soldiers wouldn't be so dead.

why are you giving them cheese burgers again?

You should know most of the aid buget is a mixture of bribes and protectionism.

We can't give money to our industries from the government as it breaks world trade organisation rules about competition laws.

But we can go to developing countries and go hey here's 100m but you've got to spend at least 60m on British products.

The problem with the government is that although they realise they should be running the country properly, they also have a moral duty to provide things for the public to complain about. We have a right as british people to complain, especially in times like these, with temperatures rising globally, there is a very real danger that our weather will change for the better, leaving us with a huge deficit in our complaint budget.
