"If you look in local papers you will often see people's names and even addresses published and details of what they are on trial for and if they are being remanded. This is before any conviction! Not sure it should be allowed but obviously it is. But after being convicted, yes, the press can and will publish full details and even photos" It has to be public so justice can be seen. Reporting restrictions can be requested in court, but it goes against a fair trial. | |||
