My current contract with virgin had run out and was considering swapping to sky. wondering if anyone who's on sky who think it's better then virgin. Please help. I have no idea between the two....although what the sky offering is mutch cheaper then virgin.

The advantage with Sky is Sky Atlantic. I'm with Virgin but have too much on the box to consider changing any time soon.

Given the weather here tonight (BLOODY WINDY!) I'm glad I have Virgin. Same goes for when it's raining or snowing.

I also think Virgin have faster upload/downloads in more areas or thought not everywhere. I think there are better deals to be had with sky though.

I have sky but virgin fibre internet.

Virgin are always offering me what looks like an excellent deal to take their TV services but I can't be arsed to make the change.

With regard to loss of service with Sky in bad weather, I've never had a problem.

100Meg until today. 150Meg as soon as I can get this fucking new superhub 2 (

) working.

It's phenomenally quick.

Nether. I use Kodi (formally XMBC) on windows or on Android devices attached to a TV, or on a tablet. More Films, TV programs and sports than you can shake a stick at. Best thing of all, NO ADVERTS and totally FREE.

Virgin for us more free HD channels and more Internet for the money. We also have a now box for the films as it's cheaper than sky movies.

I've had both in the past. I've stupidly changed to BT! Ffs don't go BT it's shit!

I found Sky couldn't be competitive when I was with them.

And their customer service was useless with broadband problems.

If Virgin had cable TV in my new area I would definitely go back to them unless they were much more expensive.

We have Virgin, and there is all the TV we need..... on the other hand there is also Super-Really-Very-Fast Broadband. When their current free upgrades roll out here at the end of the week, we'll have 200Mb...... zoom

Easiest way is thru an Amazon Fire stick that's had a little bit of work done by someone far wiser than I. She's right though, it gives U all the sky channels and more plus every box set U ever desire without the need for a dish or subscription

Sky will always be able to offer better to deals due to Rupert Murdock owning most channels therefore will offer it cheaper to sky customers. As a VM customer I've had to deal with sky asking for more and more for their piss poor programs. Virgin's fibre optic broadband is superb, seldom have issues but it does happen. With VM you don't own your box but callouts are free (providing your not out when they come) and they will swap when they need to. Unlike sky who charge call outs and you'd have to pay for repair or replacement.

If you've a good broadband speed Now TV is good. All the Sky channels streamed and good catch up, for less than getting Sky.

Perhaps, but Sky would write to people offering them a certain deal, and then when they rang up to take it, it wouldn't be available to them. So I felt that was quite dishonest. Also colleagues would promise the customer something that was impossible, and then say that there was a problem with their computer and ask them to ring back in 5 minutes, of course they would ring back and get someone else who then wouldn't be able to do what had been promised.

Moving house soon and I'm going with whoever gives me a better deal, I don't need superfast, fast enough to download a 1 gig file in under 20 minutes is fine.

No tv, no phone, got better things todo with my time than hang up on cold callers and watch adverts xx

Another "cablecutter" here. I use Kodi and haven't looked back.

I phoned tv licensing and informed them "that I don't watch live tv and I pirate American tv shows". They were happy with that and said I don't need a licence, lol.

If you have fast enough broadband over 6 mg then i would really consider the suggestion maked earlier, fire sticks Kodi and BDXM boxes. It may be even worth upgrading to fiber braodband for faster speeds. Streaming from the internet is the way forward for all serous goggle box watchers this is the reason for sky and virgin wanting you to commit to twelve monthly packages so you cant add to their aready demonising numbers people r leaving in the their droves.

Sky all the way. Joined 12 months ago. Rolled everything in phone, Internet , movies sports, multi room. They did a brilliant deal and got a hd plus box and a terra box as upgrade where you can store 300 hrs or more I think. They also through in sky go and Sky go extra for nothing . So when renewal came up last month I was worried and renewal price ridiculous so I rang up no problem with customer service and the deal at time was 35% off. I was that happy I also upgraded to he on the sports and movies as same deal applied so only £3 extra for that.

Kodi is definitely the way forward and the outlay is about the same as a month's subscription to Sky. Best thing I ever did was ditch Sky for a M12 tv streaming box bought off Amazon.
