So there are 28,800 currently on fab .

I always reckoned 1% use the forums .

Looking at recent days on the forum I think it may be half that !

Why do you think so few use the forum ?

I agree. Of the two of us it's only me L the female half who uses the forums, A reads all my posts, tells to shut up and step away

but never contributes himself, he isn't interested.

I didn't really know they were here for the first 6 months or so I was on here. And then I just read but didn't post for a bit after that. And you have to be verified or photo verified to post in them.

But mainly I suppose they're not the main point of the site so maybe the rest don't see any reason to. (Fools

This is certainly true for me too. I'm attracted to a certain personality rather than a certain look. Also, I know I'm quite a dry and sarcastic twat, which some people appreciate and some don't. I'd much rather they sussed me out before meeting.

And I get to take and show loads of photos which I couldn't do without the forums.

It's way better in there now. Yeah all the guys introduce themselves when you go in but it's nothing like it used to be. Definitely a more friendly, fun vibe in cam lately. I go in bi chat mostly.

Because they want immediate satisfaction.

Because they want a meet not a relationship.

Because they aren't swingers just want a quick hook up.

Because the forums don't tolerate fools, or the naive very well.

Because of a miriad of other reasons that, like the above, I can only speculate about!

To add balance in what can be a very one sided perspective on so many subjects .

Perhaps we offer the voice of the very people who are on the site to hook up , who want a meet not a relationship , who seek immediate satisfaction ? These people are equally as entitled to call themselves swingers as anyone else . Very little is heard from them on the forums because of the next reason we are on them .

The fools and the naive who dare not come on the forums ,( the lurkers as they are often called ) seem to like what we have to say . There is a fear that they will ostracised by the more vocal on here . So many newbies on the forums , who like us see the site as a place to enjoy nsa hook ups with like minded folk , post just once . The judgemental ' proper swingers ' beat them down and they are never seen again !

I've just read your post & whilst we are never going to see eye to eye on a lot of things, I do feel you add another dimension to the forums because for me you are so different.

To answer your original question I think a lot of people don't want to chat to others in a 'social' way ~ they login to arrange meets and that's it.

Non forum people I chat too say they sometimes look but are put off by the responses of some.

I don't use the chat rooms, maybe that's where the non forum users are...

I use both forum and chatrooms but not for meets (for both)

I notice most men in chatrooms are not really seeking for meets and I'm there just to appear cross-dressed.

Forums are interesting but after getting a ban (apparently for being bitchy?) I tend not to post unless I feel really strongly about certain things.

So, lurkers are not necessarily fools but maybe they just don't want the attention.

We've met quite a few regular posters - couples and singles, for play meets, but that was before I started using the forums (over a year ago).

Let's just say, if I had been using the forums as a newbie to the site, and had had the opportunity to find out more about them - these meets would probably have not happened. Not that that they're horrid or anything - quite the contrary - I'd have just preferred to know some things beforehand.

So from my pov they're good for knowing who to avoid in most circumstances.

If that's what we and those we meet enjoy - why shouldn't we ?

Those who prefer discretion are perfectly entitled to exercise their right too . When have i ever asked for someone else to post pics or display details of meets ?

The site has the option for eithe showing action pics or not . Displying veris no matter how graphic or not , and we choose to show both . Whats up with that ?

I agree with this. I was gunna post but then I read your response and it indicated that your OP was asked with a specific answer in mind, and that I don't agree with that answer.

Am I supposed to say that they aren't on the forums because they're busy fucking? Maybe. But we do our fair share of fucking too. It's just that I don't talk about it much in the forums. And yes, that fucking includes forumites and non-forumites alike.

I also like the social aspect. I get that you don't, and neither do lots of people, but maybe that is why they arent on the forums. The honest answer is that I don't know why they aren't here.

Everyone does things differently, I suppose. You guys are great because you offer a different perspective. But sometimes I do feel that that perspective is a bit judgmental of those who do like socials, who do like chatting, etc...

The op was a mere observation - the last few days have been relatively quiet on the forums . Yet the site has been busier .

There was no ulterior motive , and I certainly wasn't setting out to stir up a hornets nest .

I have said in the past that there are a fair few forumites who talk and don't fuck . But only where such comments may be relevant . Until the veiled comments from a couple of posters I hadn't even intimated such comments on this thread .

Are you more judgemental? That shouldn't be a question. If you become as judgemental you've become just as bad.

Forumites who talk and don't fuck: I think that's representative of the site, with plenty of non Forumites and chatroom people simply posting crap pics, whinging statuses and sending fancy a fuck messages.

Veiled comments: yup. Sometimes intentional. Sometimes just an innocent reflection of what you think with no ulterior motive - just like your comments I suspect - but which can and will be taken the wrong way by people with alternative strong beliefs.

I think I have decided to use the forum exclusively for my meets and socials as Nell said, instead of a random guy messaging you and that whole back and forth stuff, here you can 'get to know a person' a bit more.

Well I was going to post last night, but I read your bug post as a bit "forum posters just talk and don't fuck".

Maybe I read it wrong because I was tired, but plenty of us know that's untrue, we just don't shout about it or show pictures of it.

Many of the quiet ones on here, I know, are quite happily chatting and meeting behind the forums.

I agree with this. I was gunna post but then I read your response and it indicated that your OP was asked with a specific answer in mind, and that I don't agree with that answer.

I also like the social aspect. I get that you don't, and neither do lots of people, but maybe that is why they arent on the forums. The honest answer is that I don't know why they aren't here.

Sometimes everyone isn't actually out to get you. Many posters have said they value your contributions and what you bring to the forums but time and time again you post that you're being criticised for the way you do things on here when actually, you're not.

Why is extolling the virtues of chatting supposed to be a criticism? Someone saying they prefer one thing is not the same as saying that anyone who doesn't is doing it wrong, just that what they're doing is right for them.

And just sometimes, people are quietly getting on with fucking away as much as they want. Not shouting it from the rooftops isn't a criticism of you because you choose to do it. But you assume it's just not happening when, in my experience, it very much is.

I joined Fab, looked around the site, didn't like the chat rooms, saw the forums, posted, and have been made to feel welcome.

I don't doubt there are plenty of people happily getting on with their fucking without shouting from the rooftops . But , when have we done that ?

We say we are here to meet like minded people to have sex with but that's it . We don't discuss meets or brag ... in fact we just get on with it .

As for not everyone's out to get us - as I said - there was no axe to grind on bringing this post up . Up until the veiled comments asking why we came on the forums , it was a constructive thread for everyone .

I have no issue whatsoever with those who enjoy the social and chat side of swinging . However , from the majority of forum posts a newbie would think that is the be all and end all . It isn't , and we offer the alternative perspective .

Hmmm... not sure this is strictly true either!

I don't necessarily mean in a bragging way but you're very vocal about just getting on with it. Sometimes it comes across as though you think the rest of us are not really swinging. Whilst I realise that this is perhaps not intentional and I'm the first to admit that I'm not meeting at the moment but I have read some of your posts and thought they sounded a little scornful? Not sure if that's the right word, possibly too harsh but that's how they came across to me. As though everyone else is playing at it and you're really out doing it. It's great that you are.

There's nothing wrong with you guys getting on with it but occasionally I get the impression you're rolling your eyes in an exasperated way at the rest of us who appear to be pretending.

I think you're right, there are too many veiled digs and sly remarks and generally that would put me off posting if I were a newbie but I think I'm beyond the stage where I care what other people think of me.

However, when I am meeting you'd still not know because I don't use the verification system, I don't share photos of meets (mainly cause I don't take them) and I don't tell people the details.

Everyone has a different way of doing everything and none are right or wrong. If they're working for you then that's great but it's worth bearing in mind that not everyone does it your way.

The forums are populated by a tiny part of that 28,000 and it's the same on any site, sometimes the chatrooms are more popular with people, I can't be arsed with them these days, I'm usually multi-tasking so forum chat suits me better.

A while back I posted a thread saying it was nice to feel more accepted on the forums . I kind of regret that now - call it a momentary lapse

People can love us or hate us - or not give a fuck either way . The truth is we don't mind . Despite my defensive reactions , in the grand scheme of things we will continue our journey as we see fit, posting pics and displaying veri's . Just as others will do their way . And along the way our perceptions of others and their ways may change , but for the time we are happy .

My post wasn't meant to be criticizing, and I don't think any of the subsequent posts were either. You are well liked on here, and your opinions are valued. You have been told this often (including by me). It just isn't a surprise that some disagree with you. That doesn't mean we don't think you should continue to have fun. Have fun! That's what its all about. For you, and for everyone else, too.
