"Is there a polite way to tell someone they have a bad breath without hurting them or smashing their confidence? And is every bad breath halitosis? Have you ever been in similar situation? What was yours and how did you manage?" Just tell them away from everybody else. And say someone else said about it. (Cowardly but shifts any blame on you)

"I have had experience with this, a guy I worked with, mixed with too much coffee and medication he was on, his breath was rank, he was aware of it as when he talked his would put his hand over his mouth. But as his manager my boss put it upon me to (i say put in upon me; more like dumped it on me so he didn't have to) It resulted in me not being able to say anything because it was a medical problem (I believe) and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. In the end my boss took it upon himself to buy him a tooth brush and tooth paste. It didn't work." So, I am not alone. It's a tricky difficult one...

"Yes there are polite ways of saying it. It's how the recipient takes it that makes it awkward. A bit more embarrassing might be telling someone they have a stinky minge....... " ...worse if they didn't know before hand
