It depends. If it's been done in a microwave and is all sweaty no way. If it has been properly baked in an oven and is crispy then yes.

I( cheat a little.

20 mins in the microwave and then another 20 in the oven. Works for me.

I do that too - but about 8 mins in the micro followed by 15 in the oven.

I don't like the skin crispy but always eat it when it isn't.

In typical fashion I'm going to fence sit and say 'sometimes' - it depends on the situation and how well cooked it is

Although after Kittymama's warning above I might change my mind! (and you'd never eat a beef burger again if you saw one being made .. )

15 to 20 minutes in microwave, then a bit of oil and salt, and crisped up in the conventional oven for 20 minutes.

Chicken skins the best bit of s chicken as well. As chief cook, its me that gets to pick it off as it comes out of the oven still crispy.

Hahaha! Ok then. In answer to those who asked why, because nowhere serves baked potatoes from the oven. Infact, most places serve baked potatoes that have never seen the inside of an oven. When you order a baked potato one is removed from a gallon tub in the fridge and thrown into a microwave. Not on a plate, just straight into the micro. I'm sure many of you have worked in kitchens and know what the inside of a busy kitchen microwave looks like by 2pm. Just don't eat the skin folks.

Love jacket potatoes, 5 mins in micro then a cris cross on the top with a knife, rub some salt on the skin then in the oven to crisp! Skin in the best part! I've been eaten those McCain jacket potatoes because they cook really crispy anyway, always in the oven.

The deli I used to go to in ramsbottom did. They were in there for a couple of hours crisping up. You could see them in there from behind the counter. I know a microwaved spud when I see it. I still don't understand the reticence to eat from a restaurant microwave. It's only had food on it!

Yes! In my organic garden I know that the skins are predominantly healthy and free from a surplus of nasty chemicals that a grower has added.

So I eat the skins - they will have been cleaned, prior to cooking, of course.
