I walked out of my job last month, I just up and left it, probably the most stupidest thing I have ever done but do you know what? I haven't been this happy in a long while.

At my old job I was on anti depressants (the job wasn't the reason I was on them) but since I've left there and got myself a job I can pretty much work on my own (well apart from the customers) I have cut down the amount I am taking (so maybe it was part of the jobs fault?)

I am so much happier, I wouldn't say better off financially but getting up for work is easier now that's for sure.

It was a huge, huge risk but I was quite lucky I had a bit of money saved up and I got a job pretty quick

Nope. I hate my current job, but there isn't really a reason to leave yet. I just do the crap they want me to, then waste time on here

I'm about to finish work full stop In order to care for my younger sister full time (family circumstances have changed)

I'm really looking forward to spending more time with a rewarding, inspirational young lady

I did years ago and then woke up the next morning and thought shit

So got on the bus and went out and got another job the same day

Best thing I ever did as I met my gorgeous wife there and now have been married 18 years

I have two jobs the first is my main source of income which I hate the second offers very limited hours which I love. I know should be grateful to have two jobs but my main job is almost soul destroying and not mentally challenging at all and I wish I had enough hours with the other job to just walk out and never look back. Whinge over

Once, many years ago. Was a supervisor in a manufacturing plant. Some whinging arse was getting on my tits. I just said "fuck it" and walked. Never looked back. Scary at the time but glad I did it.

The look on the guys face as I removed my overalls and clocked out was priceless

Yep, I totally agree. I'm just in not in any position to quit. It's just not good for my health though. I find it really gets me down.

I had a job that I really hated. I. Fact it wasn't so much the job as some of the people who I had to interact with on a daily basis. I desperately wanted to leave but the package was just so good it was impossible. A friend who is a therapist helped me change my mindset about the job and the people and it became much easier to walk through the doors each day.

If you can't change your circumstances see if you can change your mindset.

Go full on Michael Douglass and have a "falling Down" day.

Never really walked out of a job as such, but I did dig my heels in at one place that I had been working at as a temp. Refused to sign the Swedish derogation, and as I had been there for the legal requirement, I wanted a contract, even if it was a rolling short term one. They refused to answer me till I had finished that days jobs, then told me I was no longer required. The agency rang me the week after to ask if I had reconsidered as the company was desperate, I told them to "go away and don't bother me again", but not quite as politely as that.

Weren't you unemployed for a long time before you go that one? It's far better to have an income then sit around at home with no cash.

I've considered it but I have 3 kids that rely on me to provide.

It will do until the perfect job comes along.

Yes. When I was 18, between school and Uni. Lasted one shift in a frozen sausage roll factory and thought 'fcuk it' - never went back the next night. Never since though.

I walked out of a job once. I liked it a lot and was very happy but found something very illegal going on at the company and just walked out on the spot.

Didn't tell them why. Just turned off my phone. Blocked their email and started my job search.

Yes but it was a part time bar job and I knew I could walk straight into another (and did). They were arseholes. Not something I'd ever do if it was my sole source of income and didn't have anything else lined up. Plus these days I'd need a proper reference.

Depends on individual circumstances but I'd say if you're not happy there then vote with your feet.

Easy for me to say though I've never really struggled to find work.

Sing this song while you think about it anyway.....should I stay or should I go now......if I stay there will be trouble......if I go there will be double...

I did once (having told my boss exactly what I thought of her). I was lucky, my ex manager gave me a reference.... Normally I'd say always get something before you jump, but sometimes rules should be broken....

if I remember correctly, are you not selling mortgages: if so have you got the qualification yet, if not wait until you do, you are more marketable then.

and you were out of work before. It is harder to fond a role when you are not in one. You will need to explain the short time you have been in it, then left. An employer will drill you on that

Its typical grass is greener mentality. Look at the news, so many places shutting down. You need to appreciate what you've achieved.

after finding out our promised pay rise will not happen, and some new staff have been brought in from outside the uk,flights paid for, housed in a shithole,and paid less than most of us,ive spent most of today trying to decide whether to walk...sadly i can't really do that until ive got something else,but soon as i do i'm looking forward to walking out with no notice..preferably in the middle of a very busy day!
