scottish singer-songwriter gerry rafferty has died aged 63.

famous for baker street and songs with the band steelers wheel.

stuck in the middle with you was the bands famous track.

I wonder if Bob Holness really did play the sax solo on Baker Street... ah well! At least they have been re-united in heaven now and can rock it out live for God and his saint posse.

Bob Holness did NOT play the Sax on 'Baker Street'!

That was a 'things you didnt know' piece by Stuart Maconie in the NME, which grew legs and turned into an urban myth.

The guy who played the Sax on Baker Street was not Bob Holness, he was a session musician called Raphael who earned a pittance (one off payment) for the job.

He was also in a band called the 'Humblebums' which featured a certain Billy Connolly on banjo.

And Bob Holness did NOT play the sax on baker Street. However a chap called Glen Le Fleur(possibly misspelt)did play percussion and I did a few gigs with him about 10 years ago. Aren't you all glad you know that now
