Kik is a good messenger service. It's instant and far easier to use than most other ways of sending them. You can send pics from your phone gallery or pics you take there and then - the app shows which are which.

I only use it for people Id like to stay in touch regularly with though, like several people have said, it's easy to have numerous messages in no time at all! Lol

Don't understand people blanking people who don't have it though, that's just daft! Lol

We use FAB to start with and happy to stay on it, but once we know we want to keep talking we like to move it to kik.

Benefits for us, we know we have a message waiting without having to check into fab, and as we msg as individuals in a 4 way group chat with other couples we can see who is talking and get more of an idea about their real personalities than you can with carefully constructed joint replies. It does help a bit to confirm its a genuine couple when both are kiking.

Plus, it's keeps the messages as a single thread, which FAB is frankly bloody awful at, and doesn't delete any or drop them off the bottom of the screen where you can't see them.

And you don't have to give out your phone number like with whatsapp.

And you can turn notifications to silent - so I can chat with a couple while he's asleep, it won't disturb him, until he checks his phone lol

I see it as a method by which some men try to monopolise the attention of women.

On here, their messages are side by side with dozens of others.

On kik, what's app, twitter, BBM, and Skype they're swimming in a much smaller pool.

It's the equivalent of being in a chat room and being asked if you'd like to message someone privately.

In general, most of the threads on the theme of "anyone wanna chat on..." are started by men, and mostly populated by men with only the occasional woman/couple saying "we use it, but mainly for those we already know".

Based on that, my opinion is that females approaching OP re: kik were about 50% likely to not be female anyway.

We like kik, it helps keep track of conversations , as has been said earlier , if you get a lot of fab messages , the ones you want may be way down or even drop off the bottom never to be seen again !

It's great for setting up small parties .... With4,5, 6 or more all chatting at the same time , plus you can send video clips and the pics that the fab photo police decide to reject !!

also another downside to giving your number out is since facebook bought whatsapp when ever you give your number to somone they start seeing you on facebook as "somone you might know".

I think some use it to cover their tracks, whether from partners or fab ad in etc. And others like immediately sent pics to fuel their wanking.

As females tend to get overloaded inboxes I can also see chat apps taking some of the strain away but some single female profiles may be males.

I prefer to go offsite when I'm more confident that another is a good match, whether as a friend, shag, whatever. But I don't use apps because someone has insufficient or no photos on fab. They put photos here or I decline.

Funny enough I was looking for something I could use for private group chats as thinking of asking couples into it for socials etc and would need both male and female or other male/female if it's a gay couple so might download latter and give it a try xx

Find kik works perfectly. For initial contact, saves giving out numbers until a meet is planned or you feel comfortable. Nothing worse than having to change numbers.

Seeing as I'm new to this I saw a lot of profiles saying they had Kik so I thought it was the done thing.

Plus you can chat to people quicker and more instantaneously.

It does offer anonymity but also practicality, if you're on fab on your phone. I wouldn't want to hand my number out straight off but by messaging over the phone it does develop a familiarity.

Mine is the same as my user name and I thought it useful to chat with other fab folk so you can get to know them more before a meet.

But whatever works for you.

I've found the wankers aren't needy, they don't get what they want so tend to not bother with you again. But yeah some previous meets, once they have any access to you off the site you met them on, they tend to message you a lot...i guess they're bored and want someone to chat to but i'm not bored and don't want to devote all my time to them.

It's like WhatsApp so free picture and text messaging (can use wifi) but unlike WhatsApp it uses a username rather than your phone nunebr so if you find someone you don't like you can block them and not have to worry about hidden number calls or them putting your phone number on bathroom walls
