To be fair, Jeff Beck was a controlling tosspot and resented Rod's solo success.

Jeff Beck wasn't in the Faces and to be fair to Jeff Beck, I suppose if you run your own band, The Jeff Beck Group, you are probably entitled to control what goes on. It wasn't really a mutual group like The Faces, after all. I am not disputing he may have resented Rod's success though.
