I met a couple recently and I was as surprised as they were to hear me say that I would happily only have sex with one man for the rest of my life. I have been single for years and in the real world no-one has been attracted to me- despite being on multiple dating sites- on here I get lots of mail and have met some lovely people- and some loonies!!. I've not been here long and am really enjoying it but would stop if Mr Right comes along. Unless I met him here I would probably never tell him- but would be willing if he brought up the subject. Am I alone in this or is this an addictive lifestyle as the couple suggested?

No you aren't alone I've seen women and men on here say they really want one partner only. I don't believe swinging is addictive either.

I only want one partner. I'd happily only fuck my partner for the rest of my life.

I've slipped in and out of promiscuity easily. Longest i was faithful for was 11 years, the whole relationship but did cheat on him when he cheated on me (coz i'm a dick like that).

I think if someone totally fulfils you then there's nothing wrong with that. Not sure i want to bother being in a relationship myself but i'm sure if they wanted me to be faithful i could do it, seeing as i've done it before.

People are really really good at taking their opinions and putting them onto others.

For that couple, this lifestyle is addictive. They enjoy it and would never want to do anything differently. That is great for them and for others who feel that way.

For you, and those like you, it isn't addictive. You would like to eventually settle down with one partner. That is great for you and those like you.

For us, we find this extremely fun, but we could stop whenever we want, and that day might come at some point. Who knows? I also think opinions on this differ widely between couples and singles.

The moral of the story is that one person's experience can be completely different from another and they can both be right.

Fun - yes, alluring - yes but not addictive for me. We're all here with different objectives for relationships as well as experiences with them in the past. As long as you know what's right for you and don't live your life in a way that's completely at odds with that, then you'll likely find it easier to transition between various styles.

If someone is personally more prone to addictive behaviors, then they'd do well to always reflect upon their choices.

No, not addictive for me at all either. Oh, while I am here I will meet some of the delicious young hotties that keep climbing into my inbox, but I far prefer the closeness and unity that develops over time with a partner, and I have never had a problem staying faithful in a relationship, I just lose interest in other men!
