"Abs light on Failed mot Got quoted 150 for the part 1500 labour They said something about a filter ? Is there such a thing Can the fuse be taken out and light goes out ? " I'd get a second opinion. It wouldn't cost that to replace every part of the braking system.

"What part has to be replaced? It's the abs value block if that makes sense Can these unit be repaired ? " Are you sure its not 1500 for the part? 150 sounds about right to fit it and bleed the brake system, but the part is very expensive, no real get out on this one im afraid unless you can get one from an identical car

"I can't say about bridging an abs light but I do know that a car will pass a mot with an abs light & an engine management light ON. Mine did. I parked mine up and did the bits because I carry my kids in that vehicle. Not for the mot pass, I had that already. Both lights show in the advisory and not as a failure. The fail sheet from the mot should give you enough to get it tested by other garages, until you know for certain what the problem is, it's pointless speculating " Tigerstripe is spot on Just because there is an example of a poorly conducted mot does not mean it should be repeated as advise Management lights are not part of the test

"Can these abs valve block be repaired ? " Yes but unless you have it diagnosed correctly you are wasting money . It could be something as simple As a bad earth or poor supply wire even a fuse . All of which will show a abs fault If you don't get it diagnoses properly you will waste your money and I really doubt that a mot tester will know what's wrong unless he has access to a Vauxhall computer . Just because some said it may be pump does not mean it is Even if it is the pump do you have the knowledge to replace the Pump it's not just a case of a few bolts The company that does repair them is bba reman
