I'm not, but there's an unopened bottle of Aldi's red Toro Loco in the cupboard, that might not stay unopened for long - perfect midweek drinking, if you can see past the label: cheap and extremely cheerful

I love aldi wine. I got a Shiraz and a Rioja from m&s this week was really harsh compared to my aldi bushland Shiraz

Aldi wine is superior to Tesco wine at the same price due to the higher price mark up at Tesco.

Just because you drink expensive wine doesn't make it the best, these so called experts choose good wine from £6 to £12. I myself drink Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc and that can range from the one quoted above

I couldn't justify spending a quarter of my weekly family grocery budget on 1 bottle of wine that's why. There are some perfectly drinkable cheaper wines. I don't need to have my definition of good wine changed. Thanks for the advice though. I'm sure others will appreciate it.

Oyster bay is mass produced brand with no real terroir

Well i think there is no other word that describes your attitude to be fair. Your initial post was criticising everyone's poor taste because they don't spend a fortune on wine. If that isn't being a snob then i don't know what is?

You did sound a bit snobby to me to be fair.

If someone spends £5 on a bottle of wine and enjoys it, it's a good wine.

Copy and paste that sentence 3 more times but change the value to £20, £50 and £100.

yes but there are becoming more & more 'mass produced' wines in NZ that are better than their European counterparts, - & a damn sight cheaper too!!

yes but there are becoming more & more 'mass produced' wines in NZ that are better than their European counterparts, - & a damn sight cheaper too!!

Which ones are they? The best coming out of NZ are adopting French approach - lower yields - lower sulphur - terroir based and more restrained than the usual fruit bombs
