Booking on the web....

Just a thought but if you use the net for booking rooms we find from our end of things it is not as infallible as one might think and so...

We make a booking, wait a day or give enough time for the outfit to receive it and then phone and check that all is well. If everyone did that for us good grief it would be much easier as the proformas the big sites have do not always allow for the descriptions the providers might want to put up. A quick call ensures all is well and we especially do it for abroad.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I book online a lot and have never had a problem.

Mind you, I've never had cause to need to tell them anything non-standard, so their website interfaces are sufficient.

Its averages, some will never have one and some will have more than one. But from the hospitality end be assured they happen...

And be aware too that making an online booking means making a contract which will include a cancellation policy so changing your mind can be costly...

kinky land

Booked flights hotels and a variety of things online. Always checked I've had a confirmation and be it here or abroad never yet had a problem

If you're going to telephone anyway why not just book over the phone? Online discounts sometimes are there because you don't need to take up a staff members time. If that person is then on the phone to you days later, no staff time was saved

I'm not sure all hotels will appreciate the sudden up lift in calls from people checking their bookings.

I have this nagging sense that I'm failing to spot something between the lines in this thread....

I never ring up and check anything booked online. I expect it to all work so I don't need to.

I have never had any problems. I just couldn't be bothered to ring to check up and neither do I want to.

Totally nothing against you personally but this has to be the most tedious thing ever posted here.

Central

It's sometimes nice to phone afterwards too, to check that the staff are ok and looking forward to your next trip. Adding them to your Christmas cards list isn't necessary though.
