I don't know much about what's she's done since her transition but, going by the fly on the wall show about the family I used to watch with my daughter,I'm sure there are other women more deserving. I'll add question marks because I don't know if she has actually done anything to make me think she deserves the accolade.

Ridiculous. She hasn't done anything! There are far more deserving women. The world has gone mad.

"My Nan would blow her out of the water..."

definitely a 'PC' award if there ever was one. I'm sure there's many humanitarians / medics / scientists / you name its out there far more worthy...

Who decided / granted the award? Anyone meaningful?

Has she actually won a woman of the year award or is this the glamour magazine thing where she's one of about 20? Stuff like this is always going to be bollocks anyway.

Maybe I am bn over sensitive here but she came from a completely different background than most trans gender women , its like she was handed it on a plate, while I'm happy she is finally living the life she has denied herself for so long..i think there are much more deserving trans gender woman who deserve this title.

Some of these stories are heart breaking.

Ayrshire

She has publicly became a woman which will help other people deal with what they are going through

But

I don't think she deserves woman of the year. There are much more deserving out there

I think she has just brought the TG community into the spot light, not the struggle and certainly not the knock on effects , at least some good had came from it and some education on the subject has been highlighted.

She has but I do agree with you that it was very easy to get the hormones and operation. That's money for you

Unfortunately in some ways because of who she is, it's also been a bit of a piss take.

Did she cause a fatal car crash as she was on the phone? There are far more deserving women out there too: I watched a doc on BBC4 last night about woman in Chicago who works to help prostitues or the many in Africa fighting FGM
