Most of the cost quoted is to buy the airtime to show the ad. The total marketing budget for this campaign is £7,000,000. Yes, £7,000,000 would buy a lot of presents for the elderly but as the money was never going to be spent in that way it's a bit of a pointless argument. They do give large and small amounts to charity (not just through the token schemes in Waitrose, which is a nice £1,000 every month from every store to small local charities) and they have their welfare fund for sick and retired partners. | |||
