Not sure if this is the correct area to post in (perhaps a moderator can check?).

I was browsing a website and there was an advetisement for benaughty.com. This ad had a pic of a girl (face and breasts showing) that was actually on my friends list of an old profile of mine (since deleted). I am 100% sure that this image has appeared on fabswingers.com - no doubt. I don't know her that well at all, but she seemed nice, so it saddens me to see that this pic will circulate the web forever.

Whether her image was pinched off this site, or whether she failed to choose to opt out of benuaghty.com's use of member images I don't know. I don't know if she joined benaughty.com, though.

My point is, everyone should evaluate whether to post public pictures on their profile. I have decided not to post any pics in future; I will only show myself on webcam (most people don't go to the effort of recording cam sessions or making still images).

Just a heads up for all of you!

"maybe we should all just meet silhouettes? "

lol

I was only reminding people of the consequences. Not telling them not to post pics.

Besides, if people just met silhouettes, it would mean people were not judging others' appearances; only their personalities. Now there's a thought...

If ya don't want ya pics or profiles to be copied all around the net

Then be very careful what you put on any site

Nothing on the net is 100% secure not even the banking system

So if ya don't want it spread dont put it on xx

there is a company whose name is something to do with whiteboards who sell cheap websites to people who want one. A lot of their sites are casual sex sites and a profile registered on one site will appear on other sites too. I know this because i registered on one but was meeting people from sites i had never heard of so did a bit of research with google and was quite disturbed by what i found. That profile no longer exists. Be carefull out there peeps.

I'd be more willing to believe it was on the other site first, but maybe I'm just a cynic.

It's funny how people get all careful about what photos they have on the site but will send via mobiles, msn and so on.

I don't have any photos on my pc or phone which show my face and boday parts... it's either one or the other.

Once it's out there it's out of your control.

A few of the adult sites are linked together as mentioned. Some of them use members photos on the marketing and banner adverbs as well as home pages etc. They even continue to do this when you leave that site. I am told that it's in their terms and conditions that once you upload a pic, they can do what they like with it.

There was a thread about this a while back and someone asked if Fabs did this and admin replied to it saying no, once a profile is deleted, that's it, gone forever.

Any pic posted on the Internet can be stolen and re-used. The best way of to eliminate this is to watermark each pic you upload in the centre of it or where the main focus is.

We don't do this though as we only have non identifiable pics in public gallery and are pretty choosy who goes on friends list.

Steve

If you can see it in the web browser it is grabbable, either by a human person with print screen or a webcrawler. The only way to prevent it is for it not to be viewable I'm afraid!

does make you think doesnt it

well im sorry to be the bearer of bad news but even if the pics are not readable or not grabbable you can still snatch them off the web site

i use my mac grab to help me take pics or images for work that i like - so far i have never been denied - i just cover them - convert to adobe and slide them off the screen

have to say i can even do this with web cams

it does make you think about not having explicit pics on here - because even if your friends see them if they save them then they can be pinched

paranoid yet?

i had someone post my profile and pics on the companies notice board.

they also emailed my pics all around the company and tried to set me up with fake meets from fake profiles.

wasnt on this site it happened but it involved the police because the comments and constant wise cracks really pissed me off. and when i found out who did it and the company refused to sack them for it i did something about it and the police had to escort me from the building.

people cannot be trusted with anything.

you don't even need print screen anymore, I was told the other day that you can now right click and copy on Fab, checked out with my pics and you can
