I took a sleeping bag to my first social (I was due to kip on someone's hotel room floor)

The following morning I mentioned it to the lady I was in bed with - she replied that if she'd known, we'd have both used it. I'm still not sure how practical that would have been, but I am occasionally prompted to wonder.
