"The actor Steve speirs, the character phil mitchel,Brian Blessed... Aren't they kind of fat?" I'm not saying these guys are ripped or "shredded" there's definitely higher fat proportions than a gym body. But there's some real power behind it. Power lifters look fat. But the clue is in the name with that one...

"I think my father was the kind of guy you described. He spent his whole life doing manual labor (used to shovel coal into boilers for 8 hours a day). He was naturally strong and big, but had never been to the gym. He would eat anything. Absolutely anything. And loads of it. He mostly survived on pots of coffee, though. And no, he didn't have a heart attack at 55. He was 54. -Courtney" Blimy, there's only so much a body can take huh? Sorry for your untimely loss.

Yes and everything else.....he was a steel erecter/scaffolder and roofer by trade when he'd come back to dry land from the merchant ships and out of the forces..x

But I think very often (NOT always) that type of build goes hand in hand with a harmful lifestyle. -Courtney

"My old fella was a bit like that when he was younger...hugely strong fella..he gave me his pinky ring...it falls off my thumb. Never been a day in the gym bit I'd bet he'd still out lift a lot of us on here now and he's well into his sixties... He puts it down to hard Labour and exercise... He still walks the hills and is fitter than most of us.. Carried a red stag he shot off some mountain up in the lakes yesterday...ok for a pensioner " Jeez the sort of guy that beats up muggers! Cool!

"I dont mean gym guys, i mean naturally broad strong guys. The sort of man who would be described as "a unit". They may never have been in a gym but could probably happily lift a washing machine without breaking a sweat. Like a railway navvy. Got that guy in your head now? Right, on with the question! What, in a normal day do they/you eat? Is it all "full English" and pies or what? I work along side a naturally big guy and he only ever consumes crisps, chocolate and Dr pepper! is it possible just to eat loads and become strong? Or is it a genes thing? Do they all have heart attacks at age 55? I need answers!" I did have a liking for rugby build guys but now its changed. Very very slim guys, still have the same strength
