I have read profiles which have made me think they're up their own arses and they do tend to be woman's profiles on the whole.

Those profiles that expect men to jump through hoops to meet them

I've seen some men's and couples profiles like this too but it is women's in the main.

Some people may think my profile sounds as though I am 'stuck up my arse' However, I don't expect any man to jump through hoops to meet me, all I expect is respect and able to hold a decent conversation, so very hard to find up here!

It may not be 100% on thread, for which I apologise, but this trend for despising someone for being "posh" really annoys me.

Why is it wrong to have had a reasonable education? To speak without swearing every 3 words? To have manners?

If that's "posh" then the world is a strange place because I was literally born in a council house, in a working class family, close relatives were union officials, in other words I'm working class, but I know how to behave.

Yet I'm told I'm "posh". Well that's fine by me then.

Not at all, I agree everyone is entitled to preferences on their profiles but some profiles are asking for everything but money to have sex with them.

I always think it means they just don't share someone's opinion. When it's used on the forums anyway. As in 'How dare you disagree with me? There must be something wrong with you'. I may be wrong and anyone is free to disagree with that synopsis since I don't really mind if people don't think the same as me.

There is nothing wrong with being posh - posh accents makes me melt completely! People do hopelessly confuse manners with undeserved elitism and arrogance.

Back on topic though and I fully expect to shoot myself in the foot here - I believe the phrase stuck up themselves is particularly apt when describing a large amount of female profiles here. It's not a man's market here though so I don't really blame the ladies for demanding a higher standard than they warrant. Just envious really and totally shocked they get away with it.

I don't think it's anything to do with posh .

miss innocent hit the nail on the head - it's those who think they are better than anyone else .
