Bring back the old days where there is no mobile phones computers. Because in the old days people went out to enjoy life and meet people in bars clubs and where more friendly than these day when making friends. To be honest the people of today’s world would not be able to live without technology where they relay on it to get tough the day. hospalitys and doctors relay on technology to fight illness which is a good thing but a bad thing for socialicing with people.

I disagree ....

I think technology is amazing!

We all have choices - we can choose to use technology as another tool to enhance our lives - or we can choose to isolate ourselves - it is not the fault of technology it is our addictive personalities.

You started a sentence with "because". In the old days you speak of, my teacher told me off for this.

I love and hate tech stuff!! I spend far to much time on my phone but what can I say, it's the sign of the times, I couldn't imagine a day without my phone and stuff, I should try it but I'm getting the sweats just thinking about it!

And mine! Oh shit I've done it again!

I'm too young (woohoo I don't get to say that often!!) to remember pre internet stuff... my casual sex back then was with people I knew from school, through friends, etc.

The yoof of today don't even know the pleasure of standing on a white dog turd.

If you want a happier and more sociable world, the power is in your own hands.

I think we would adapt if we lost all technology.

Have some faith

I use technology to meet people and find events in the real world.

But I would miss online shopping

I didn't go out and enjoy life, i just existed in poverty.

Do like how you can learn loads on the internet and discuss stuff with people but yeah would like more if a real life, always wanted one. There's not much out there if you have responsibilities though, hoping to move to a better area next year where there's things to do.

I remember the swinging days before the net when people crafted nice hand written letters to like minded individuals via contact magazines. It was all very proper indeed

yes that true but on the plus side i think the world would be a better place to live then without the net as no one could be judged lol

I remember when most of Fab was fields.

Roughly where the lounge forum is today there was a forest of pampas grass where herds of majestic swingers would mount each other with indiscriminate vigour.

Them was the days.

People have always judged others. However, at least in the old days you might have taken the time to check your punctuation and spelling.

Wow 10k songs, imagine trying to have that amount on LP format, goodness, would take you AGES to find your favourite tune (unless you sorted all your LP's alphabetically etc).

Some good things with technology, like sat-nav's etc, and agree technology must be good for the medical profession.

I have a computer and mobile but I wonder how people would get on if there was an electricity strike.Way back when there was an electric strike we were in the dark most of the time but we got on with life and we survived just about. But today with everything relying on electric I think we would end up in complete chaos and England would grind to a halt.

My objection to technology/mechanisation is thusly:

The promise of technology was that they would lead to an increase in leisure time as all the pointless tasks we used to do would be done by computers & robots.

Anyone feel like its working out that way?

Or are we all engaged in pointless, mindless, repetitive nonsense the only respite from which is to dance and drink and screw...

Or is that just me...

Most of what you say is still true of today. Like all things there were some great things in the old days and some were bloody awful but there is probably more shit happening now than then.

Can you imagine kids playing computers games etc, then there's a electric cut, goodness they'll probably not know what to do. You suggest they "go out and play", and they give you a blank look
