"Place ya bets!

How far back are you intending on going?

If it's within 20 generations, no. If it's within 200 maybe. If it's within 2000 yes

The thing I read........

Singer Sir Tom Jones is undergoing a DNA test to see if he has any black ancestry. The 75-year-old crooner was often taken for black due to his baritone voice and curly hair.

“When I first came to America, people who had heard me sing on the radio would be surprised that I was white when they saw me,” Jones said in a recent interview. “Because of my hair, a lot of black people still tell me I’m just passing as white.”

That don't mean anything. The Welsh are renowned for their baritones (according to Zulu with Michael Caine) and many people have curly hair for many generations without having black ancestry for even within 200 generations.

He also had a fondness of Delta blues growing up, so he sang along with that.

Beyond the obvious of finding out his families origins, why would it matter, and why is it of public interest?

Noone would give a damn if it was anyone not a celebrity society is strange

There's alot of African genes in Wales. Maybe something to do with the collapse of the Roman empire leaving the black slaves they used for mining behind.

Think it's got more to do with the fact that alot of welsh ports were the last stop before the new world for African slaves for a couple of hundred years before it's ban in the early 1800s

I think it's barmouth that has a dedicated graveyard for African slaves that had died on route back from Africa, it's been awhile since I was there but it's definitely in that region
