Lots of dust sheets,white spirit,rags,a full body paper suit or 10,protection goggles. And keep your mouth closed when painting the ceiling. Spoken from experience. Don't marry a painter and decorator,you'll live in a half decorated house all over life. Also spoken from experience

Get fit blokes round to do it, who won't charge but who like pleasing others. They won't need to wear full clothing of course but can take regular showers, should their hot bodies get paint on them.

Stripping the paper off has pulled most of the plaster off.....We now have plaster missing, no skirting boards and no arcadtrade. .......Thank god I am working Xmas day and no one is visiting,haha xxx

Ohh wallpaper is no good fresh smooth plaster all day long so much easier to redecorate

Luckily the ceiling is still in good shape so don't have to paint that...I hung up so,e decorations and it's taken loads of paint off but was still going to decorate anyway

What's a plumb line?

It's a piece of string with a weight at the end (basically). It gives you a true vertical line.

You only need it to hang the first sheet, very thing after should go well. ( fingers crossed)

You put chalk on it and ping it against the wall to get an horizontal line

Start your wallpapering nearest the window and work away from it but do not start right up against the window reveal as you will not be able to run the paper round the corner into the window when you get to that bit. Hope this helps. PandJ
