There have been a airplane crash in eypyt and 224 was on the plane, they say they rule out technical fault and they said the plane "broke up mid air", what is your view and how could it be broken in mid air? Does it mean it got shut down by mistake?

Anything is possible, once black boxes are decoded there will ne a better idea of what happened, and once wreckage is examined that will give a better picture too....

Several reasons, a mistake with a missle, a targeted missle attack, a bomb on board, an unexplained explosion, severe structual failure..could be anything but I'm sure the conspiracy theorists will have a good day until the truth comes out..and it also depends on who said what and whether they had any particular motives to say it before the truth is known

I just Gooled and the news is saying ISIS have claimed responsibility. First thing I thought when I heard it on the radio last night was that a plane doesn't break up in mid air unless there has been some kind of explosion.

More info: An airline official acknowledged there had been previous damage to the tail during take off in 2011. ISIS could be cashing in on an unfortunate accident. Although the damage had been repaired and was not thought to be a factor in the crash.

Well I thought the news said that isis have confirmed it was them. So that's either a bomb or missile strike even if a emergency door was opened at 30k feet the cabin would depressurise but pilots could react fast and get it to a lower altitude so you can rule that out.

I Suspect it was a bomb. But who done it then one conspiracy is USA

Wonder if it was more of those missiles the russians don't supply ..the ones that brought down Mh-17 in Ukraine?

I have a feeling Russia might be more helpful and interested in getting to the bottom of things now the plane was carrying Russians.

As the plane was flying over 30,000 feet they say it's unlikely to be a ground launched missile. Not the kind of think Isis have.

Seems likely to be a bomb or some catastrophic failure that didn't give the crew time to radio that they were in trouble.

The aircraft that went down suffered a tail strike many years back when operating for another airline.

If the damage was not repaired properly the result could be stress fractures to the air frame resulting in explosive decompression.

This would be (one reason) that explains why it appears that the plane was in two sections with the tail seperating from the rest of the fueslage.

It has happened before.

As others have said though, without air investigators checking every possibility, all explanations are purely conjecture at this point.

it is said that a certain group was claiming responsibility for the downing off the plane and the deaths off all those innocent people...

however the russian government denied it and claimed it was a malfunction or something gone horribly wrong in the planes system which caused it to crash...

Well it's been more than 24hrs and the Russians haven't found a Muslim passport burning at the side or declared your either with us or against us....

So at least there showing a bit more constraint than a Republican!

For the theorists that Russia may try to 'hide' evidence if it becomes apparent that a missile was used, this is a multi state and multi agency investigation.

Investigators are in attendance from :

Egypt (the country of the accident)

Russia (the home country of the airline involved)

France (the aircrafts country of manufacture)

Ireland (the aircrafts country of registration*)

* the aircraft was registered in Ireland and was owned by Irish aircraft leasing company ILFC. It was not owned by the airline, but on lease

So influencing the outcome of any investigation is not easily done.

Could be a crack thats over time got worse. Could be 100 things. But as for being shot down thats just to sell papers. It was at 31.000 ft. Doubt very much a terroist group would have access to weapons capable of that.

the mount Sinai mountain range is what 6000 or 7000 feet!

Besides that Malaysian plane was shot down at the same height, could be a bomb planted on board?

The only thing they know for definite is that it came down awfully quick and not in one piece!

It has happened twice in the past to 747s.

It's not Been shot down as there's no big AA equipment in the area.

A bomb on board or metal fatigue and a poor repair from the tail strike are the most likely.

It depends who/where did that repair.

Really that quite has changed dramatically because when it was OK the news it was "he had complained about the technical condition of the aircraft" but everyone botches about stuff to their wives really.

And the pilot wouldn't be talking about the airframe because he'd have no idea of the condition of the airframe it's all hidden.

He'd be complaining he didn't like the software or the interface or the flight computer telling him to do one every so often

I'm supposed to be going on Saturday Thomas cook who we are flying with have is advice to travel to the airport anyway.

I wasn't happy with this as its 3 hours away, petrol, parking to be told your not going would be a pain.

So I've called the Internet company I booked with the guy told me I would be called tomorrow with more details, however as far as it currently stands the holiday will not go ahead as planned I will be offered a upgraded alternative or my money back.

So I'm in limbo to be honest kinda relieved of truth be told I love Egypt but was getting emotional about going.

Good luck. Hope it all works out for you. No conformation if a bomb was the cause but I suspect a few bribes paid or hostages taken, in order to get items smuggled onto flights is in some parts of the world, all too common! Now the UK gov has intervened I would think British planes coming out of Egypt will now be some of the safest in the world.

I Jez watch Aircrash Investigations on sky and remember a case of a Boeing 747 owned Japan Airlines suffering structural failure some years after a tail strike after a poor repair by Boeing. Airbus have an excellent reputation for safety so it's possible poor maintenance by the airline or a bomb on board. I think there was something on sky news that stated American satellite s had picked up a heat signature prior to the break up of the aircraft. Either way it'd a terrible tradgey for the families of the victims.

A knee-jerk reaction by the government. There is no concrete evidence of a bomb as yet. The investigation into the event is underway and will, I imagine, announce its initial findings soon. Until then all statements regarding cause are pure speculation.

Not really Russia has been itching for a proper show of strength this let's put in take them in in. Rightious vengeance.

The airline is already being pushed hard as "the plane was perfect the pilots did nothing wrong" Russia don't want the blame to be with them they want it to be with an Islamic terror group.

Gives them more leeway for brutal tactics in their other conflicts with Muslims such as chechnya

Maybe a campaign against ISIS wouldn't play well at home for Putin, so all the more reason for him to want it to be a bomb. Two hundred plus Russians blasted out of the sky does wonders for public support.

Now that is a very good question.

ISIS? Maybe, they have admitted responsibility, although that could just be a bit of bandwagon jumping, they certainly have the will to do it. Capability? To shoot it down almost certainly not, but smuggling a bomb on board wouldn't be that difficult for them.

Other anti Assad groups? possible I suppose but very doubtful.

Putin himself? Not as ridiculous as some may think. A good way of picking up public support for his actions in Syria, and he has got form for using death and destruction for his own political ends.

This could end up like "who killed JFK"

We've not long come back from sharm, and had a brilliant time. There was lots of security around the resort and at the airport, we flew back the Saturday before the Russian aircraft came down, hope you get offered a lovely alternative

Ground staff can be corrupted by money or beliefs but also be pressurised by blackmail or kidnap of family members.
