Waist training

Ok, so corsets aren't unusual attire on here, but has anyone ever used or tried waist training? Depending on what you read views are poles apart. I'm tempted but would like to hear about how it's worked (or not) from people in reality and not just those wanting to sell a product.

Never tried it but heard it's not very healthy for your internal organs but maybe wrong..

I have tried waist training (back in the days when I had a waist) it took weeks to get used to wearing a corset most of the time and to be honest my back was knackered at the end of it.

Still love wearing corsets but it's more of an every now and then thing.

I've tried before, but have never stuck with it long enough to make a difference, both with the latex hook and eye type (which I'm not really convinced about) and with a proper steel boned corset (which I think does work, I just didn't do it long enough). I felt like it was maybe making a slight difference to my upper waist, but that's already the thinnest part of me anyway so was a bit pointless. I was slightly concerned about impact on lower back muscles though, I've read some stuff suggesting that because you're being held in by a corset or waist trainer, your core muscles don't have to do as much work to sit upright so they get weaker, which is the opposite of what I need.

That sounds like the opposite of what I need too. Caesarean has left me with a wobbly belly.

I know someone who did it slowly over about two years and she has the most fabulously tiny waist as a result. I haven't got the patience or want to risk the health issues to do it myself but I have noticed that when my occasional corset wearing becomes more regular for short periods of time it does make a temporary difference. I'd go with steel boned custom made and gradual decreases if I were to do it properly.

I read a blog post diary by someone I will try and find the link. The woman said it worked but she was in agony for the first few weeks which really put me off xx

you have a great figure but no substitute for a bit of hard work I tried to get abs last year and was doing 260 situps a day and didn't achieve it its a lot to do with diet as well I cut out bread that made a big difference and my stomach muscles are pretty good ,I would love to help you get in shape x

My Mum belongs to a historical dance society and makes lots of costumes and corsets and they really can cause damage.

I find hula hooping the best way to keep mine trim....

I think you can get special exercise ones its worth a look on the net it certainly helped get rid of my baby belly when I had my youngest

You can't spot train or sculpt fat.

Just a healthy sensible diet with a sensible amount of exercise

Is the way to go

Look up Mr Pearl the corsetier. If men can get that shape, it undoubtedly can work but as a result of years of slow tight lacing. I've always had the impression that it's more about upper waist though rather than lower - so I'm not sure if it would achieve what you want since you mentioned caesaerean belly etc.
