"My son takes part in airsoft battles. The kit he started off with has served him well as he's progressed. For his primary gun he has an official H&K G36k (produced by UMAREX), it's an exact replica of the real thing and made, mostly, from the same polymers as the real gun. It's fitted with an electronic V.2 motor (all steel, which is important for future upgrades) which fires 650rpm at 1 joule of muzzle energy (roughly 375fps), select fire - safe, semi and fully auto and two stage electronic trigger. We've done a few upgrades to it by fitting holographic sights, front end grip, breaching torch, laser, piston and gearbox upgrades and a slightly more powerful battery and now it's a very accurate and reliable gun easily comparable with some high spec electric guns. Ammo-wise he uses 0.2g Bulldog BB's. For his secondary he has an non-blowback Umarex M1911. It's a fairly decent sidearm and being non-blowback it's reliable. The only drawback is gas doesn't last long so it needs recharging fairly often. You can only buy two-time guns until you've obtained your UKARA licence after that you can buy all black guns or have your two-time gun painted to match the real thing. To gain your licence you have to take part in a minimum of three organised skirmish battles. Other things I would suggest you buy are spare batteries for your gun, spare magazines, a decent charger with auto-off, a good face mask, armoured gloves, neck protection and a molly compatible webbing vest. Just BB guns is a good site to get everything you need (Google them). Have fun." Two-tone not two-time.... Stupid phone.

"I've got a nice full metal gas blowback m92 replica from the resident evil films ^_^ I used to go to an indoor place in huds (halo mill) but don't really go any more. Need to make a little display case for the gun really it doesn't get used much at all these days " I've seen a few gas blowback guns shatter in cold weather (top slide fails) which is why my son opted for the non-blowback. They do look cool though.

"Still don't see the attraction, what's the point in running around plinking plastic balls at each other. " It's fun? It's like paintball but with comfier guns and more pain lol. What's the point in hurtling round a race track, or playing football or any other hobby?

Apparently it's caused by the propellant gas freezing the slide and making it brittle and after repeated cycles it fractures and fails.

"Thanks for the advice guys. Not sure if I like the idea of not being able bend the rules slightly, by wearing thick jackets under my camo gear. (It helps the paintball to bounce and not break, so you don't die so easy)" Wear what you like, there's marshalls that ensure you don't cheat...

You'll probably only get it with co2 guns the green gas ones will lose enough power from the mag getting cold in cold weather that they'd never be able to do it. Even good brands are still cheap aluminium castings that only get a visual inspection no one's doing NDT ultrasounds on them to check for voids or inclusions. I only play indoors though and I just have a pistol spare mags in a pocket and a tshirt and glasses for "gear" so they usually all stay nice and warm rather than the people outside for hours with them holstered etc

(It helps the paintball to bounce and not break, so you don't die so easy)" If you're suspected of not taking your hits youll find the marshals will start shooting you when you think no one can see to see if you admit your hit. If you don't you'll be out, or as one once said "I think you'll put your hand up before I run out of ammo" to one guy lol

No fun sitting with your gun frozen, and the other side taking pot shots at you.

Not cheating as such, just playing the advantages. I started playing back in 92, so I picked up a few things. All I have under my camo gear is a bomber jacket, it stops one or two hits.

Yeah it's cheating don't be such a little bitch. Airsoft though is purely based on honesty there's no mark to prove your hit you just hold your hand up and take your hits like a man.

"Still don't see the attraction, what's the point in running around plinking plastic balls at each other. It's fun? " Is it??? Done it for real with live ammo and things being sent in my direction that hurt slightly more than a 6mm piece of plastic. Now that's fun.
