I did one year with my ex at the time even got our bulldog in on it. Ex was wearing a scream mask, I had on another scary mask and my bulldog was dressed as a witch even though he was a boy. It was the only outfit left at pets at home in his size. Next doors little lad knocked at the door and we opened it and sprang out. He was just laughing at the dog though in his dress and hat

Had loads of cute dressed up kids here tonight, i made my kids go the door (and to the shop when we ran out of chocolate bars lol).

We answer the door. It's only once a year and i know how much little kids love getting home with loads of treats.

We normally get the kids my mum child minds come knocking. We had a few tonight. Had to put a sign on the door asking them to only knock once otherwise my dog has a proper meltdown. Just got fireworks going off now

Normally we decorate the front window & door, have pumpkins out & love seeing all the littles in their costumes.

This year though, *Him* is away and I took LO to her first Halloween party so they may have knocked but no one was in to answer. I feel really bad!

Yes. Last year I had hardly anyone knock, so this year I bought a fair amount of sweets, but told them to take 2 each.... Around half 7 had about 20 knock on the door in a group! the sweets soon went! None left for me

ive taken kids dressed up myself just to add to the evening for my friends kids as a one off special

all I ask from them is a little treat for taking them of some of there candy they keep the money

we collected that much that night all 4 of them had carrier bags full of sweats

just one thing I got stared at often by the kids and all of them told there teachers about that night and that I was dressed as the ugly evil witch

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Two hours of knocking and bell ringing.

I scared two lots of girls who screamed and one little boy was too frightened to take any sweets.

I hasten to add I was dressed up and it wasn't just my stern hard stare that scared them.

Well the house has been well and truly halloweened up all day, been out trick & treating but all in all seemed a fairly quiet night.

I put a sign on my front door saying "Don't even think about knocking until after the rugby world cup". It worked as no one knocked until it was over...they were handsomely rewarded with Celebrations and Heros

I had a lady round for drinks and a very nice assignation. To stop any interruptions to the proceedings I left two large tins of sweets and miniature chocolates at my front gates (locked of course) with a note saying;

"Hello to all tricking treaters I am so sorry I am otherwise engaged and cannot personally meet you on this ghoulish and devilish evening but I have left you some treats for your edification. Please feel free to help yourselves and enjoy your evening in a safe way!"

When the said lady left at 3am this morning all said treats had been consumed and the tins were gone! Best £25 I have ever spent and as for my treat you were just what needed!!!! Not one single knock on the door!
