Is it me, or is anybody else concerned about the security of this site?

I'm starting to lose count of how many messages we've received that say their previous account had been hacked and they lost all their verifications.

It's a reasonable concern these days.

I've had a quick look, and the absolute worst mistakes haven't been made - for example the "forgot password" link on the login page will email you a reset link, which implies the full passwords aren't stored.

It would be great if the admins could say how the passwords are stored, exactly, to help set our minds at ease.

In the general case, most hacks are for the reasons in https://www.fabswingers.com/articles/FAQ#login_security

i have been on here for years and never had a message like that and never been a victim either.

I would take things like that with a pinch of salt and if you are really worried change your password regularly.

Don't upload anything to any Internet site which you want to be personal and private

That is a common lie, to sound like they had lots of veris, but in fact never had any.

Not had anythin like that. Just be excuses. Like a guy we were chatting to all of a sudden went. Then rejoined and said fab deleted his account for no reason. No doubt got reported for being a messer lol

The only people who can remove veris are admin and they generally have a reason.

You lose the text if someone leaves but you don't lose the count on the summary.

Have they been hacked or just been free with their details? If you let someone access your account and they abuse that that's not hacking. And if you share a computer or an Internet connection with someone who you have verified or who has verified you that raises a red flag for admin that you might be the same person trying to verify themselves.
