I know, but they are too fundamental. The ring, the car chase, the big explosion.

But the main issue is the revisionism - the forced and unnecessary attempt to link this film back to the previous ones.

We thought it was ok... not worth the increased prices for the film though. Although there were plot line 'holes', the general concept of the plot was believable ( of a fashion, although you'd think it was / is more likely from the establishment rather than the criminal fraternity)..

Probably 6 1/2 out of 10 from us.

Plot holes irritate me. It's lazy writing. Suspension of disbelief is for those elements in films, plays or books which we know to be impossible, ie magic etc, but for the sake of the story and for the pleasure of our own imaginations, we roll with it. Plot holes, by contrast, are an insult to the _iewer/reader; something we are expected to forgive or ignore. Or perhaps we are expected not to notice them at all.

Then again, there are Mr Craig's blue eyes and firm buttocks to gaze upon, so who gives a fuck!

As a Bond fan I loved Skyfall! Impressed with the villain, all the gadgets were back, a new 'Q' and thought the links back to Bond's past and also the fact it was Judi Dench's last as 'M' all made it a great Bond film for me.

Maybe that was after the worst Bond film ever though - Quantum of Solace

I thought Spectre was good, linked in all the old films well, tied up loose ends etc which is good as it's Daniel Craig's last film as Bond. A bit long and drawn out for the storyline, but overall still pretty good. Not as good as Skyfall, but still a good watch

Worst bit is listening to Sam Smith. Dreadful song.

Im now also distracted by Craig's ears, and Ive also noticed he has a Bubba Gump bottom lip when he kisses.

Christopher Waltz was a disappointment, and Im a big fan of him.

Cars were stunning, but chase was dull.

Set piece explosions were yawn worthy.

I did like the humour though.

Daniel Craig is still, in my opinion, a lousy actor and a terrible Bond.

I've just returned home after seeing Spectre. I enjoyed Skyfall a lot - I particularly liked its depth.

In that sense, Spectre was lacking; it had the feel of a more traditional Bond film, with more emphasis on the action than storyline and character development.

For a film that attempts to tie together the events of three previous films, I felt as though more needed to be explained, explored.

However, the plot, taken in isolation, was interesting, and the score and acting was superb.

Excellent car chases, too.

Very disappointed. There's no real logic going on, maybe if you've watched the older films you'll get it but we were just like "why is this guy doing all this?" Without giving away spoilers, there are two major themes but they don't seem at all related (what does the surveillance and cookoo have to do with each other?)

Very bland and by the numbers. It looks like someone sat down and wrote a list of special effects they wanted and then said "now let's try and link them".

Not terrible but not worth going to the cinema for. Absolutely nothing clever about it. Casino Royal was the best DC film. Solace was probably worse and Skyfall was better.

The song's grown on me. I think I made the right decision in not listening to it before I went to the movie. It's been getting mixed re_iews but it's not bad. Not better than Adele's Skyfall though.

Yes. Plus the title sequence has a tentacle wrapping itself around a woman.

The tentaclelovemoster approves of such things.

A lot has been made of " is it better than Skyfall" all I can say that it's much different than Skyfall. Plus Bond has changed to Devil may care attitude we know and love because we had 3 films to watch the Character change!

It was one of the most enjoyable entertaining times I had in the cinema.

James Bond stole my DB10. Oh well easy come easy go.

Go, watch and enjoy.

Good action and worth seeing on a bigger screen but as ever the hype machine doesn't do it any favours

To summarise, nobody who liked it has said they liked it because of its clever, thought provoking plot.

People liked it because it's got fast cars, choreographed punches and the odd gadget (action).

If you want action (only) then go for it - plenty of that. If you expect a story to link the action - forget it.

This is my problem. I want to see the film, but I can't stand Sam Smith. To me, he sounds like an off-note shriek on a clarinet, that plays 45 wandering off-key notes rather than just one.

I for one really enjoyed it, sure there are bits that are wildly unrealistic but as a piece of escapism it's hard to fault. The actual cinematography is beautiful and whilst it's a long film it really didn't feel it as it kept me engaged.

The only thing I will say against it is one word "drill"!!

I saw it last night. Actually prefer it to Skyfall.

Obviously it wasnt thought of at the beginning of the Daniel Craig films linking them altogether but had they, could have made the whole thing a lot better with clues etc dotted around the previous films.

I look forward to seeing the new direction the next Bond will go, will it stay with the more darker tone or go back to older ways.

Watched Spectre last night. Its not a bad film but Casino Royal and Skyfall were better

It did seem very haphazard at times and did seem like it was built around some ideas for special effects

Not a bad film but it wont go down as one of the Bond greats

It's 45 Minutes too long with far too much pointless exposition. The plot is like Leerdammer, even despite the needless exposition. The action set pieces are largely forgettable.

But it's better than Moonraker.

The cuckoo reference is Oberhouser calling bond a name in reference to him coming in to his family and effectively steeling his father away, effectively making this his motive for revenge. This has nothing to do with the surveillance angle, surveillance aspect was SPECTRE infiltrating the world's combined security resources to spy on the spys. Effectively how the baddies were taking over the world this time.

Thanks for clarifying, so which was motivating Oberhouser to kill all (both) the women on Bonds life? I'm guessing the cuckoo (a reference that doesn't work) but then the need / benefits of the surveillance are never explained. It's just a very rich and powerful organisation getting marginally more richer and powerful...

There's a scene at the start when Bonds in the mask and gets into the elevator with the hot lady.

He goes from looking around like he's assessing everything to looking at her like he's going to tear all her clothes off.

Simple enough change of mood you'd think but he's wearing a mask and he conveys all that with his eyes and body language.

Things like that make me realise there really is a skill to acting (and yes, directing and scoring). So, I'm sorry but to those who says Craig is a bad actor, I can't agree.

Very bland and by the numbers. It looks like someone sat down and wrote a list of special effects they wanted and then said "now let's try and link them".

Not terrible but not worth going to the cinema for. Absolutely nothing clever about it. Casino Royal was the best DC film. Solace was probably worse and Skyfall was better..

I gave up on the bond films after Timothy Dalton licence to kill, don't think I'll be rushing out for this one either

Don't tell us Dalton was is your favourite Bond.

Although Dalton was totally dog shite as Bond, he was still better than Daniel Craig

Except he killed his father so that was kind of throwing the baby out with the bath water...

As you wrote the second part of your reply, did that sound like an interesting subplot to a movie? Who thought that would make an interesting film, other than Edward Snowden?

Fair enough, maybe the concept isn't so bad but it was incredibly badly done. You could have removed that entire subplot from the film and it wouldn't have made an ounce of difference to the main plot.

No,hence why I gave up watching!

Best bond film by a mile was ohmss but with a terrible bond, best bond as everybody knows was Connery, Moore wasn't bad early on but was way to old at the end, Dalton was OK, Bronson was errh and the films were utterly terrible, which made Craig and his films seem better than they actually are!

We all loved it

I've been impressed by the whole re-boot, like the films more dark and gritty. This one seemed to have more of the old humour from the previous Bonds though.

Good question... I've avoided it thus far as that's all it seems to offer... Which is fine, but it's just not substantial enough for me given I visit the cinema once a month at best...

Everyone has different tastes and there's nothing wrong with enjoying car chases and gun fights. But for me, I need a reason (read: plot) to care about the car chase and is anyone seriously going to say they thought it had a deep, complex plot?

it. I was getting a bit weary with the angst ridden Bond. Finally Daniel Craig delivered the Bond I've been waiting for.

Great pre credit sequence, title sequence & song worked well, action, hot Bond Girls, a memorable villain & henchman, awesome cars, stunning locations & Bond saves the day to walk off with the girl. More like the Bond I recognise.

I thought the plot was far fetched, even for a Bond film, it reminded me of the Robert Ludlum books a bit, with plans and schemes stretching many years.

All the characters seem to have had an awful lot of costume changes, and although they looked great, the fashion seemed to reflect the first half of the 20th century, rather than 2015.

I think the casting of C was completely wrong, to be in such a senior position, someone much older should have been in that role, it didn't make sense that he could have climbed that high in the civil service at such a young age.

All the characters seem to have had an awful lot of costume changes, and although they looked great, the fashion seemed to reflect the first half of the 20th century, rather than 2015.

C/Max Denbeigh was a tech savvy character who was a social climber & Uni friends with a high ranking Minister (as discussed by Tanner & Bond on the Thames). For me that seemed appropriate that he wasn't an older, grey haired type or even middle aged. So it seemed appropriate that his character had quickly climbed the ladder considering his tech talents & connections. Plus he had the Blowfeld/Spectre backing which would've helped. His "cocky" attitude towards Bond & M being "in the dark ages" was dealt with when M's superior experience removed the bullets from C's gun & in the ensuing fight.

There's been a few fans complaining Spectre is creeping back towards the older style Bond movies but I don't have any issue with that. I like Bond having a great villain, superhuman henchmen, slick car chases, hot Bond Girls & Bond saving the day & getting the girl in the end.

9/10 for me.

This film is deliciously over the top and superbly far fetched. The girls, like the stunning locations are props to show off Bond.

A super vilan with the hump because of a childhood grudge was a ridiculous twist, but you know what, I watch a film to be entertained, and you expect Bond to be ott. From the opening sequence (always my favourite part of the film) to the driving off into the sunset with the girl, I was entertained for over a couple of hours.

8/10 for me.

I remember the bit on the Thames where I think they said that C went to school with the Home Secretary (or something along those lines), which again doesn't make sense for someone so young. To me it just doesn't fit.
