Good things about Italy

Brighton - even Hove!

The Vespasian Man thingy got me thinking about my time in Italy. I really enjoyed the warmth, the buildings, the pizza and the olive skinned ladies.

What do you like about Italy?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I loved everything about it. Venice was beautiful, and Rome was friendly. The food was lovely, as were the scenery and the people. I even managed to arrange a meet! It was bloody hot when I was there but I am back again next year (Turin) and planning for Venice again in 2017.

My lasting memory of Italy is sitting alone on a hotel balcony watching the sun set on Lake Como whilst I tucked into crusty bread, a leg of lamb and a bottle of _ed.

Love Italy, particularly the south. There can be few places on Earth as staggering as The Amalfi Coast, and few people as open, friendly and beautiful. The climate, the culture, the food are all second to none.

Unfortunately, live there for any more than a couple of weeks and you will realise that "Jobsworth" isn't just a word, it's a way of life. As the world appears to fall down around you , beaurocracy is king

My hairdresser is from the south and said they aren't very welcoming and you have to speak Italian to go there. Or maybe she meant to live there,in which case I would expect that learn the language

I've never been but my bf once got charged £13 fir a twix in a village up mount etna. He never realised till he got back to his hotel in Malta. This was pre euros lpl xx

Rome is hot in summer. You are crazy if you go. In August the population of Rome halves as everyone escape from the city

You should go to Sardinia. See has nothing to envy to Hawaii or Polynesia

Amalfi coast is not as characteristic as you cluld think. Many places are better

On my first visit to Naples, my camcorder was stolen within minutes of getting off the bus. Parts of it are barely more than shanty town, and the poverty is eye-openings. Still prefer it to Rome though and have some wild and wonderful times there - the Neapolitans are wonderful folk on the whole and you always have the Bay and the coastal drive (if you are prepa_ed to take your life in your hands, that is).

Went to catania last November, stayed 20 kilometres away from Mnt Etna!

Wonderful sights, and very friendly local people.

Wouldn't hesitate going back, loved the place.

Born and raised in Italy...still living here (Verona-Lake Garda-Velpolicella area) still a nice place to live...but italians are much more "nervous" than they were 20 years ago, not as welcoming as it used to be....bah

My daughter had just passed her A levels so as a treat I decided to take her to visit my sister and brother in law in Milan, via Rome.

Driving past the Coleseum, lit up at night left me speechless. Everywhere you look in Rome is a feast to your eyes.

We were only there a couple of days, killing time until my sister returned from Tunisia. I intend going back and truly exploring Italy, top to toe.

We took a train from Rome to Milan. My sister and her husband met us...ooh, the joy! I love the Italians, their sense of family, their lifestyle. I'd live there tomorrow!
