Best Bond Film?

So come on, with Spectre due for release, which is the best Bond to date?

I think my favorite is Casino Royale. A great film for a new Bond, back to basics, not too many gadgets, beautiful women, humour, brilliant opening scene (free running with that black French guy), great to see the back story of Bond getting his 00.

What's your favourite and why?

Another great thing about Casino Royale is that because of that film I can claim that I drive James Bond's car

My fave is "The spy who loved me"

Best theme tune (Nobody does it better), best villain (Jaws), best Bond car (the white Lotus Esprit that converts into a submarine) and for me the sexiest Bond girl ever Caroline Munro (even though she played the part of a villain) all in the same film. Roger Moore is also my favourite Bond.

Since you asked.

Also, next time you tell someone not to comment on a thread if they don't like the subject....

Gold finger is my favourite.

Saw Spectre last night and it gets less impressive the more I think about it.

Before 'Skyfall' my definite favourite was 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. Now I'm torn between the two.

Despite having the weakest actor to play Bond (George Lazenby), everything else was superb, and at the time it was the closest of any of the the films to the James Bond of the novels and was the most faithful adaptation of any of the Fleming novels. Like Daniel Craig's initial outings it was also "back to basics" with Bond relying on his training as an agent and with none of the outlandish gadgets that had become such a part of the series.

It also what has has easily the best music score of any Bond film as well (in fact some parts of it are re-used in 'SPECTRE').

Still up there in the Top 3 for me along with 'Skyfall' and 'Goldfinger'.

Going to see 'SPECTRE' on Sunday. Can't wait!

I was about to say OHMSS as the best of the old Bond movies. So different to the others, a love story, explains a lot about why Bond is the way he is throughout the series. Plus that Louis Armstrong soundtrack.

Think it's hard to compare modern Bond to the older films though, they're so slick comparatively.

Spectre for my birthday in a 20s Art Deco cinema. Can't wait!
