I love them. I think the nickname sausage dog really suits them. I saw one that was so long once that his belly dragged on the ground.

Bought a nextbase from Halfords 150 quid and then 20 quid for a 32gb card.

It's brilliant and records in high definition and is great at night. Worth the money for peace of mind.

so you have to take the card out to watch on laptop, how long do they record, is it like 3 minute blocks then overwrite ?

Connect device to PC or take card out and use it in phone. I usually stick it in my phone and find the clip I want then edit it and yes 3 minute blocks

I use Autoguard on my phone. Records in HD and overlays speed, time, date and GPS coordinates.

It even has crash detection.

Best of all it only cost a couple of quid for the full version.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

If you're going to do it, get the best quality footage you can, esp at night. Storage, Bluetooth, apps, etc - all secondary. If you need to use the footage, nothing else will matter...

I use a GoPro, which is only really useful in daylight, although I still use it.

cheap and cheerful one from bay of e. Less than £20, footage a bit grainy, but good enough for evidence, works fine - make sure you get a fast flash card TF10 (I think), about £10 off bay of e

Mine will record a complete journey about 2 to 3 hrs & has a drop down screen to show what you're recording

Do try and hey one that either goes to nightmode or can have the screen off at night while still recording. A mate has one that sits on his windscreen at night next to his satnav... I find them so brought it kills your night vision.

A 32gb card will record hours of footage. I have one in a 4k GoPro and that records 2 1/2hrs of 4k at a fairly low compression rate. at HD quality with decent mp4 compression, you should get at least 5-10 hours before it starts to loop.

Best place for the cards is 7dayshop. great company, great prices- used them for years and pretty much the only place i look for memory now. I think they might even have dash cameras too?

I use to use them too, but these days Amazon are just as good (ie cheap).

Make sure the cam is on his back! Problem solved.

Had a Nuvicam, sent it back.

It's a great piece of kit if you can site it correctly in your car. Sadly it wasn't going to work in mine as the view was always going to be partially obstructed (either mine or the cameras).
