What does the term 'bunny boiler' mean to you?

Coventry

Just got a message from a guy who stated no 'bunny boilers' on his profile. Personally I hate that term and think it shows a bad attitude to women and I immediately blocked him! ( after telling him just that )

What exactly do men mean when they use this term, obviously I know where it comes from, but what exactly is being implied by it..?

It's a reference to a sequence from the film Fatal attractions where GlenClCloses'character in the film kills a child's pet by boiling it alive in an act of revenge agaist Michael Douglas's character who was her FB in the plot.

I said I know where the phrase comes from but was curious to know what men mean when they say it, and why put it on a profile?

I don't boil bunnies. I just roast them or cook them in a pie

But seriously on herr, I'd take it as someone who continuously messages, wants to meet up, won't take no for an answer, messages other verifications you have etc, a bit like a stalker. And yes men do it too..

"I said I know where the phrase comes from but was curious to know what men mean when they say it, and why put it on a profile? "

It means they don't want a woman who's going to get all clingy and 'develop feelings'. Basically get all weird. Means they just want no strings fun. Nothing more.

Ironic when it seems to be mainly men who do this!

It's interesting, a term that will never be associated to men

I think 'bunny boilers' can be equally male or female!

I have experienced my fair share of male ones, and I am sure there are plenty of both sex lurking the internet

Maybe its their way of saying they are married? Its open to interpretation but they may just be saying, they don't want someone to become part of their personal life, or who is going to get upset when that kid of access is denied….. because the guy's personal life might be more precious that he is letting on

so you wrote to a random stranger, gave him feedback and then blocked him before he could explain the context behind his words.....

then you ask us to explain it.

I think that is a tad bizarre

I think this is a good description

I suppose men put it on their profiles because of experiences they've had on here that don't fit their ideas of what the site is about

Although both genders probably exhibit such tendencies, it's seems that, as is so often the case, the derogatory term is reserved for women....

In my experience on the swingers scene, it's guys that can constantly message until blocked..

In the real world, there have been a couple of instances in my life where a woman has taken a respectful rejection badly leading me to feel that I should, perhaps, have been firmer.

"It's interesting, a term that will never be associated to men "

Probably because the term was born from the behaviour of a female

Men just get called stalkers

I've had a few men state they want no strings and after a few days start talking about more than that. I stop them right at the beginning and don't give my home address

So does this mean that if you did not have it on your profile then you will attract bunny boilers. Just like having a status about Sydney university.

I think it is when a female ( or male I suppose ) think they are into NSA sex when in fact they get the wedding dress / suit out as soon as someone says they are gorgeous/ wants to fuck them/ fucks them.
