TMJ is a pain in the ....

Jaw! Anyone ever had it ? Two weeks ago I had a wisdom tooth out and now suffering from TMJ which means it is painful to open my mouth very far (not good for meets as you can imagine! lol)

Anyone got any tips as to how they coped ?

I have this. Went to see a specialist. Got told to eat soft food for 6 months, nothing too chewy, no toffees or chewy sweets and no chewing gum. Also to get a mouth guard to wear at night if I grind my teeth. Avoid stress and apply heat to the side of the jaw using a hot flannel 3 times a day. I also have to do jaw exercises which if you google it you can find them. It's easier than explaining them.
