"It Noel Gallagher" Not sure what you see in him, personally ever since I was a kid he's struck me as an absolute blank in terms of anything resembling likeability or personality. Rather like Bono in that respect, although credit where it's due, despite being an absolute wanker the Irishman is actually a pretty good singer.

"I think Michael Palin exudes charm and charisma in the most understated way.... and Denise Welch demonstrates she has a complete void of either.... The Hairy Bikers seem poles apart in the charisma stakes,,,,, the Geordie one makes me cringe.... ![]() Palin ..... Agreed Denise Welch ... You and me both. Detestably Vile Creature. Hairy Bikers ?? Aren't they both Geordies ?

"Has it - Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, James Martin (the chef block) and Paul Hollywood Void - most politicians. quite a few football managers." I find Paul Hollywood less charismatic than he is repulsive. Politicians , successful ones, are highly charismatic. Doesn't mean we like them or what they say but they are charismatic.

Good job there is such a wide range of tastes on the planet, be dull if we all liked the same.

"Has it. All the people I am drawn to. Does not have it. All the people I am not drawn to. That's all it is at the end of the day. " Not really, it goes beyond subjective opinion, rather like a persons looks. Sure, it may be said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but some have more beholders than others, and charisma is no different. If you take 100 people, 99 of whom find you magnetic and one thinks you're a charmless twat, that doesn't reduce your charisma to a matter of opinion.

"I always find the subject of charisma fascinating, a persons natural, inherent likeability (or lack thereof), and wondering exactly what it is about those who have it that makes them so irresistible? Which celebrities do you think have that natural 'it' about them, and which ones do you feel are the opposite? For me most: Matt Lucas, Simon Pegg Least: Noel Gallagher, Kanye West" I agree Kanye West! And Justin Beiber! Emma Willis has "it"

"I watched a programme about scientology a while back, one of the head honchos on there literally oooooozed charisma,he was probably in charge of recruitment! Charisma can be dangerous at times Someone who has none....Josie Cunningham " Cult/religious leaders have bags of it. Documentaries on Jim Jones leader of the Jonestown cult make me feel both fascinated and sick to my stomach at the same time

We are inexplicably drawn to things we don't actually like , at times.

"Charisma creeps me the fuck out, Derren Brown has it... ![]() With derren brown its probably the fact you know he can reach into your brain and flick switches and you have no control.. Or maybe its the fact that in the face of these people you feel powerless (in a sense) and the loss of control is uncomfortable

"I'd say Russell Brand." I'd say you are confusing charisma with an inability to be quiet. Just because he can fill a large space with his ego. Charisma isn't the same thing.

"Charisma creeps me the fuck out, Derren Brown has it... ![]() derren brown is an NLP specialist.. thats not charisma and the way he is towards people who are naturally intuitive is arrogant and i cant stand the man..he thinks hes cleverer than everyone else when he knows how to do anchoring and mind games..bleh...not many people i dont like..but hes one of them... ![]()

"Believe it or not, studies will tell you that Hitler was one of the most charismatic of people. It's not actually to do with likeability (or so the studies say) - it's about a certain 'presence' about someone - almost hypnotic - and people listen to what they say and believe them - exactly why Milliband failed as Labour leader - he lacked charisma apparently " This... There were a lot of very intelligent people surrounding Hitler. And he convinced them all to do horrible things to other nations, many of his ideas were completely irrational but they followed him anyway. How does that happen?

"Charisma creeps me the fuck out, Derren Brown has it... ![]() ![]() I never said it was charisma. He has a rare skill set that he has honed to an incredible level. I have used NLP as a tool and have seen it used but to nowhere near that level. It is hard to be working at that level with such a level of interest without having a massive ego to go with it. He just isn't overt with it which may be why he comes across as smug and a bit patronising.

"Interesting that there are so many conflicting opinions on who's charismatic. I'd suggest that's because we know someone charismatic when we meet them... but charisma doesn't translate onto TV, film, or radio. I think real charisma is just about energetic resonance. A few years back I went round a mates house and a couple he knew were there... when she walked in the friggin electricity was bouncing off the walls between us. She was utterly entrancing. I could've stared at her till the cows came home... and it wasn't to do with looks... it was just something energetic between us. That's what I think of when I think of charisma." this ![]() ![]()
