Hillary Clinton recently stated:

"Woman have always been the primary victims in war.

Woman lose their husbands, their father's, their sons in combat."

Er, doesn't that make men the primary victim?

The clue is in the word "primary" Hillary........

It's a sad fact that people die in wars.

It's one of war's defining characteristics.

I suppose what she's getting at is it's women who tend to be the ones left behind, which is also a kind of victimhood - not just those who are killed. But it seems a bit of a meaningless comparison to me; all suffer in war - not one sex above the other.

Not sure of the value of her comments on women and war but overall I could not disagree more. Hillary is probably the only figure of true stature that is running in the race...and as such..and being a democrat I wish her all the best and hopes she is the next president. .!!... what would you like...a republican.....worse still...donald trump..?

I don't believe she is. But it was still a poor choice of words.

If my alternatives were to be conscripted to fight, or to sit at home powerless while my husband, children, brothers etc were killed, maybe with a bit of gang rape thrown in for good measure, I'd prefer to fight. It's not a competition, war is shit for everyone.

Pretty sure weapons manufacturers do pretty well, so do oil companies. We all benefit from the medical innovations that come from wars.

Maybe she meant that women are often raped/trafficked/abused as a weapon of war.

I'd need to know context.
