Ok maybe a contentious subject but I have never been in love and yes I am jealous of others who are, how the hell do you get to my age and never experience it? Am I so weird to being the only this way?

I'm the same, no idea what it feels like for real. Or to be loved properly either. I just can't imagine it.

I've had a 7 year, 22 year and 19 month relationships too.

I've loved and been in love. Best feeling in the world!

Now lust however, that's something else entirely, amazing.

I've been in love. Three times in my life. I'm lucky because I've had three very different experiences.

One was the one who got away. It's mutual and we still talk most days ten years later. Time and circumstances weren't in our favour and it's too late now but there's a little place in our hearts for each other. I loved him. Physically we were the perfect match.

One was entirely physical. By that I mean the feelings were physical. My body did funny stuff around him. It was consuming and conflicting for me. I don't think it was healthy. He was insecure and that wasn't visible at first.

And the other was deeper than I've known was possible. It goes further. It's physical and mental and there were no limits or conditions. There are no doubts, no insecurities I just knew he'd love me forever. It's the kind of love I was in love with. When that sort of love is mutual it's a total waste to let it pass you by. Grab it and keep it.

Don't ever think it's not possible. It is possible. It does happen and it's not got an age limit. It'll come and you'll know. It may be a romantic notion but I'm keeping it nor am I ashamed.

There are zillions of right people for each of us. The world is too huge for that not to be possible.

I'm a romantic. And proud.

I hope it happens for you OP. Nothing beats the feeling of being in love in my opinion. Yes, you put yourself completely in the hands of someone else but they do the same. Being in love gives me a reason to get out of bed each day... Or stay in it xxx

No. I don't think this is weird, although I can't imagine what it might be like to not love as I have fallen in love with many different types of people for many different reasons

Ah love or lust and how we do easily confuse them... It's interesting when you ask someone to describe what love is the definition they provide is often actually lust.

I do feel that our language, as rich as it is, is very limiting. Inuits have 20 words for snow; wet snow, slushy snow, powdery snow etc. Yet we have one word to describe a multitude of emotions, connections and relationships.

It's not surprising that we all have different interpretations and seek different things that we all call love

That's really true. Lust is instant. Your body tells your head how it feels before you have time to think. Lust is delicious.

And we apparently have 400+ words for snow!

I'm not in any camp just now, and I fear I have only been in the Lust camp in the past!

It seems I must in the weirdo camp of life as I fear I will never be in the love camp and I don't know what to do about it....it seems there is nothing a person can do

I've never lived with anyone. I'm in some sort of weirdo camp too. I'm okay with that because I love living alone but it doesn't stop me wondering what it would be like to share my life with someone on that level. I can't really imagine it at the same time.

Ok Maybe I should just accept that I was never born to be in the constraints of a relationship and just accepts things how they are. Hey ho Life is a bitch at times lol

You don't have to accept anything. You can just forget about it. Put it to one side and throw yourself into stuff. I never dwell on the fact that my Mum introduced me at a family party as her daughter, quickly followed by 'she's a spinster!'

What the actual fuck?! I'm single Mum!!

Just as well I do like my life!

I've rarely lived on my own, at home, student days, lodgers and then 22 years with a man.

I'm not lonely on my own either. And my life is good. Just can't imagine what 'real' love is like

I'm lucky ive found the perfect balance I love someone so deeply it he understands me as I understand him, we don't want to !I've together we both know what each other want, I was 41 when I met him but the most amazing thing is finding someone who wants the same as you

Ask yourself why you want to be in the 'love camp'? If you are seeking it because you think there is someone out there that will make you happy then think again. People like money won't make you happy, you have to look within and at what you already have. Thing is whilst you're busy doing that you might be surprised by what or even who you find

I have been in love.

I know I won't be again.

I guess I lost something along the way.

Lust comes when you see something you want and you grab it... that's how one pursues lust.

Love, however, comes when you fall in love with yourself and the universe... then the crowds of people part, and someone notices you shining like a little star or blossoming like a beautiful flower and they want to resonate with you. Love comes to you... it is drawn to you on the magnetism of your own love. Love recognises love... that's how it finds you.

Another romantic here
