Haven't had a drink for about 4 weeks now but I fancy one later today watching NZ All Blacks.

Which drink should I go for?

I love Guinness,but after about 6 or 7 I find it gets a bit heavy.

They say a pint of Guinness is the equivalent of a roast dinner

I like Peroni as a lager,but it really depends on your taste buds(I can't drink/stand Stella or Becks)

Oh yes, Leffe all the way. In fact almost every Belgian beer, although not in one go

For the uninitiated, bars in Belgium can often have beer menus with a hund_ed beers on. Usually pretty strong too

Thanks for your suggestions. I normally look on the side of the bottle and if its 5% vol or more I tend to buy it.

Sometimes drink the hobbo drink special brew..my local shop even puts it in a brown paper bag for you..lol

We want to buy a pub sometime in the future (freehold ale house of course)

We're lucky enough to have a really good selection of pubs around us and a handful of micro Brewers within a 5 mile radius.

I can only really drink bitter shandies now and even then the varying taste of them is brilliant.

Many of of the supermarkets have offers of 4 for £5 or £6. Treat yourself to a few different beers. Deals often include the local beers.

Anyone tried blue moon? I've had it a couple of times, still undecided on it. Need a slice of orange I think it is served with.

As a few have already mentioned, you can't go wrong with Belgium (and German) beers. Hoegaarden is one of my favourites.

Or if more lager, try birre moretti. Not sure on the spelling but it is Italian and much better than peroni

I'm not sure where it is from to be honest, a bar in Preston sells it and had it there when someone else got the beers in. Tried it again bottled from the supermarket but wasn't sold on it. If it's American, that is probably why, never enjoyed US beers..
