Ridiculous disproportionate responses

I see that UEFA have opened 'disciplinary proceedings' against Manchester City after some fans were heard booing during the Champions League theme tune before their game yesterday (story here .. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34603517 )

Since when was it an offence to boo over a song!? Crazy!

Anyway, it got me thinking, are there any other 'making mountains out of molehills' examples you can think of where the response was totally disproportionate to the original event - either in a Fab or vanilla related context?

It's a surprise someone doesn't throw that Sepp Blatter in prison.

I had a disciplinary hearing in work yesterday, regarding me not wearing a company jacket!

Told them they are fucking ridiculous and need to stop wasting time on petty things.

Oh and I won the argument! HR laughed at them!

It's not just an American disease - they just have more people and more guns. And a deeply entrenched generational racist legacy born of slavery...

It's quite common.

Ho hum.

Lot's wife was turned into salt. Sodom and Gomorrah were burned so hard they ended up as patches of glass.

I think the Flood was a bit of an over-reaction as well to be honest. Old Testament God was a bit of a dick.
