"So where do we go from here ?"

Answer: we need to sort out the issue has the following symptoms: that the worst Rugby championship team just smashed the best six nations team, that 8/9 RWCs have been won by southern hemisphere teams and there isn't even a northern hemisphere team in the semi finals!

I don't know what the issue is exactly but someone sort it out please!

The TMO is so massivly overused at times that to not at least ask him to have a look at the phase of play leadung to such a vital decision is a poor effort by the ref

I know the ref's decision is final, and I respect that, but when TMO has been introduced for just this purpose then it beggars belief he didn't refer to it

That said it was a very poor line out. He should have gone for a short one and kept the ball in hand

I just don't get why a referee would choose not to consult the TMO for a match deciding decision in the last minute. On such small margins though are hearts elated or broken, it is why sport is so marvellous.

I'm hoping to see Argentina get to the final so we have an underdog to cheerm

Scotland have got a great up and coming team, I think they will do really well in the next few years, as a half Scot I'm gutted for them now though.

Anyone want to join me in cheering on South Africa next weekend against New Zealand? The other half of me is South African so I still have a chance of having a winning team

the IRB have offically thrown craig joubert under the bus for he refereeing in the scotland australia quarter final...

it was shockingly poor.....

it was bad enough that on the final whistle he sprinted off the pitch not shaking hands with anyone.....

now the IRB have offically confirmed that the final penalty that gave australia the lead with a minute to go should never have been given.... and that it should have been a scrum! not that that is going to comfort the scots....

I think we have seen the last time joubert ever ref's an international game....

RWC rules limit TMO reviews to foul play and try decisions. Since neither was an isue, Joubert got it wrong but was correct in not asking the TMO to look at it.

Even TMOs get it wrong. Think Mark Cueto going over in 2007 at the beginning of the second half in the final. The ref would have awarded the try but the TMO wrongly in my opinion gave SA the benefit of the doubt. That hurt LOL.... Scotland I feel your sense of injustice. You should have won.

The 6 nations format needs to change. The autumn international system is just leading to the meaningless friendly scenario with only pride at stake.

Why don't at least have the top 2 from 6 nations and rugby championship doing semi final and then a final. Each year swap it from southern to northern hemisphere. We are getting left behind somehow. competition isn't good enough. Look how Argentina have improved since they joined the championship.

i think the think that actually helped out argentina more is that a lot of their better players ended up at european clubs... which helped because a lot of players were part time and didn't make a living from rugby....

the interesting thing now is the money that is being put into both the argentina and japanese super rugby franchises... which will allow the bigger name players to come home... and also give up and coming players much better competition thruout the season

i actually think scotland and ireland are getting it right... in that they try to keep the best players at home thru dual club/county contracts..... and the provinical struture... look how ireland now have 4 competative provinces rather than just the 3..... and the rise of glasgow warriors in the celtic league to know comprise most of the scotland side....

wales issues are compromised by the lack of cash in the regions and the wrfu.... but they can look at the scottish model for how they can look forward....

i just think the club structure in both england and france is wrong... for me i'd like to see england bring back "division" rugby to the champions club because that would have given england a base of 60-70 players qualified high class rugby

Always going to be a problem with Englands wage cap.

I don't blame the players for wanting to go to France and earn some decent money(I'd want good money for putting my body through what they have to)

For me England need to scrub the wage cap and stop driving the top players over to France or Aus/NZ.

Until then I fully make the players correct.

They must be so annoyed when they see some football players getting 2.5 mill per month.

You tell me who earns their money more ?

The problem for english rugby is the same problem others have with premiership football.... TV money...

the Top 14 deal in france with canal plus is 5 times larger than the aviva permiership gets from BT sport.... which is still a shed load more money than sky pay the celtic league (pro 12)

I have no problems with players making the decision to go to france (see how many all blacks and wallabies are going to be playing in top 14 after the world cup) think those in france should be allowed to play for england... it has improved the games of steffon armitage and nick abendanon for example.... so long as english clubs response isn't to try and then poach from the pro 12 and actually try to bring thru the next generation of top english players....

I hope we have a rugby thread that goes on through out the year rather than just at 6 nations time......

I think the SA NZ game will be the most physical we have seen so far..... I do fancy the all blacks to nick it...

If Australia play like they did last week... and Argentina play like they did ..... Argentina wins..... This is going to be close... I wonder if the pressure is beginning to get to Australia.. And after last weeks refs gift, I don't think they get any this week......

This one I could almost going into extra time.... If it is dry.. Then I will say Australia, if it is rainy then I will say Argentina

Totally agree Fabio.Win or lose the Boks will leave a mark on the All Blacks today.

Problem is NZ have such a strong squad they basically have reserves for all positions.

"Imagine if they'd got through to the final without scoring a try in the semi.

NZ need to cut out the penalties.

Yes they do, if they want to win the final they need to up it, stop giving away penalties and score more tries

I hope this is a wake up call for next weekend.

I was begging that they didn't give away a penalty in those last few minutes.

I feel more relieved than happy at the minute. "

And I was praying that they would lol

New Zealand have a habit of pulling it out of the bag when they need to. They gave away far too many lazy penalties which allowed the 'Boks to put their points on the board. But I just can't see anyone beating them

I think Argentina are seen as the underdogs so I'm rooting for them too.

But they've been very good and scrappy their past few games, I hope they can keep the form.

Did you watch any of the Munster V Ulster game last night ?

I know Munster aren't the easiest team to beat(especially at Thomand Park) but Ulster really did miss their chance last night.

As for todays final I'll firmly be cheering the Wallabies on(not just because they would win me some money, but I also think considering the route they have had to come through they have been the best team so far in the competition)

Alas I have a feeling this maybe 1 game to many today and think the AB's will probably win reasonably easy(But would Love to be wrong )

Thoroughly enjoyed the RWC and think the lower ranked Nations need to take some credit for that as it does appear there are less and less "Easy" group games and they seem to be closing the gap.

Think both Scotland and Wales can walk away very proud of the way they performed(I gave Wales zero chance of doing anything in the RWC before it started) and Biggar defiantly proved he is a better player than I ever gave him credit for

Hope the final lives up to expectations and may the best team win.

Go Wallabies

Very tactfully put.

Ulster were poo last night!

Neither Ireland or England lived up to either expectations or their potential.

While I would have liked to see a good RWC for Ireland but it's a good 6 nations that matters to me. Perhaps that's the fault with Northern Hemisphere rugby.

Would love you to explain this ?

So Carter learnt his trade from Wilkinson?

Everyone thinks Jonny nailed everything he kicked ?

Please look at Career stats.Carter Wanks all over Jonny

Wilkinson would have loved to have been as great as Carter, but he isn't/wasn't and never will be.
