i have 2 interviews next week and am trying to prepare for them but i am sooooooo easily distracted!!!

what are your interview prep tips?

Ooo good luck!

Prep some answers to questions you know they'll ask, I tend to write stuff down, that helps me to remember.

Oh and I'd have a no fab rule for a bit to focus

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I always find it best to sort out what I am going to wear first, and check where it is, plan my route to the interview.

Then just brushing up on the company I'm going to be interviewed by so I know what they do, and then just think of the usual interview questions...

there are set competencies that they will ask me so i am preparing answers to those but the organisation i work for are very single minded and doesn't seem to think you can have experience outside of the work you have done for them (they are both internal positions) so it is hard finding examples that fit as i am going for a promotion!

If there was a job description available in application pack, revise that, ask them to elaborate further on something you aren't sure about (evidence you are interested in job) and you can take any written notes/questions you may have to an interview (evidence you prepared!). It is worthwhile briefly describing skills/experience gained from previous jobs that you can apply to role if you are the successful candidate.....

They discount experience gained outside of the organisation? Even though its internal I'd prepare so that it's a new organisation, don't be complacent about thinking you know the business for example. Maybe think of strategic issues which you may have got wind of through those internal comms/newsletters which they hope people read but hardly do!

If it's possible to take a big of a portfolio of work, do that.

Try not to stress about it though, otherwise your mind may go blank when it matters.
