Walked past one of the smoking bus shelter things at work the other day and noticed a few things.

There was around ten people.

All were engaged in conversation.

Many were smiling/laughing.

Conversation was occurring between folks clearly from different depts.

There was 2 project based conversations.

I went back to my lonely office thinking "bloody anti social smokers".....

So there you go, if your company ever wants to increase staff engagement get them tabbing...

You don't have to be a smoker to stand in the smoking shelter. You could have joined in with a pretend cigarette in your hand

I actually know someone who had been made redundant get a job from talking in the smoking shelter, it is the most social anti social thing they've done creating smoking areas, I know many Nome smokers that go in them

South East Midlands NOT

Smokers are proven to be more efficient as well. It's to do with leaving the office and taking a mental break.

The camaraderie among smokers has always been excellent in every place i've worked in.

Thankfully i'm not allowed to vape inside so I still have to go out to the smoking area.

Widnes

I work in audit and a member of our team smoked, she used to get some very good nuggets of information when she went for a smoke.
