Giving kids vouchers for good behaviour!! Two of my kids just broke up from school today and have come home with £60 worth of vouchers for the high street!!!

Don't get me wrong very proud of them but how can the government justify rewards like this when we can't afford anything else?!

O o O oo

I am guessing it would come out of the schools budget

Brighton - even Hove!

It's not extra money just using existing money differently.

According to my kids (one is very 'in' with everything) the school doesn't have much money, it's good they get rewarded for good behaviour but a simple box of chocolates or something would be better.

Chams or Socials

PTA funding? My eldest gets vouchers for most house points in tutor group or 100% attendance which I expect anyway!!

Angus & Findhorn

if my taxes are being used to reward kids for working hard to better their lives and succeed, spend away and I hope they like what they get.

they will be looking after me one day.

It's the schools budget to spend in the most effect way.

We may see it as excessive but if its working I'm all up for it

I think that's bloody marvellous if they have worked hard and are achieving what a great gift how many do they give out

I'm very very proud of them, and I don't begrudge them at all, I just found the amount for a 13 year old child quite a lot, especially when it should have been £100 but the school cocked up somewhere.

He is now happy and content with some sweets he bought and is saving the rest, so I guess we did something right on both counts (which shocks me greatly!)

I'm quite pleased to be honest to see this has happened, in our area it's the children who misbehave that are rewarded rather than the kids who do behave and work hard (the children even pick up on it themselves saying things like "I should just be bad then I'll get to go on a trip or get money") Im a great believer in reward good behaviour and punish bad not visa versa as it's not the example we really should be showing.

Well done to your child/children and you should be very proud

Jane x

That's widespread though isn't it? I get vouchers all the time for being a good boy.

So anyone reading the thread that has NOT getting regular vouchers from the Government has obviously been VERY naughty!!
