When my nephew and his gf were having their baby went into to vist them .was talking to the midwife and when she reliesed I didn't have children she actually told me to have one then I'd be a real woman !!!!

My ex hated it. She's a size 8 and would often be told by others who are larger she's not a real women.

It's like saying a skinny bloke ain't manly enough cause he's not got a stocky frame.

It's pathetic.

and this might piss a few off but I don't care..

Imo All this real talk and other bollox about larger girls being not a bag of bones and such is just an excuse for over weight people to stay overweight.

Some try and use that to justify being fat.

On a side note I was 21st and I was not fucking happy, No idea how people could be at such a weight I was lazy. I'm far happier now I fluctuate around 15-17St and able to do far more.

I've had it said to me because I'm thin, I've had it said to me because I don't have children, I've had it said to me because I don't want children, and I've had it said to me because I like watching sports and don't like makeup.

I just laugh when people say it to me now.

All women are real. The description is frankly ridiculous.

People like different physical attributes. What turns one person on may not turn on another.

The I love real women threads are usually, not exclusively , started by men who like larger women, or, men who are trying to ingratiate themselves with larger women as they perceive that they will get more sex.

We all have our own view of what constitutes curvy, often the word is a euphemism for the "F" word that we dare not use.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I think we probably pick up on what we are individually sensitive to. Certainly it's not what I see in everyday life at all. Slim is still king, pretty much everywhere in the mainstream media and among the population at large. For example I got told to "wind my fat neck in" last night by someone who disagreed with what I posted. I can't imagine anyone ever being told to wind their thin neck in. None of this makes saying someone is "not a real woman" ok, I'm just trying to put it in perspective.

Would be better if perhaps everyone could just stop commenting on each other's appearance full stop.

I would have gone nuclear on her if she had said that to me. I once had a colleague that called me selfish for not having kids. Said your not a "real woman" till you have experienced child birth. Omg I was fuming.. However last laugh when I told her why I don't have kids..

This attitude is damaging not only to women who are child free, by choice or not, but also to women who find parenthood a struggle. Having children has taken everything out of me and my mental health has suffered terribly. I love my children and I do my best to give them a safe loving upbringing, but the cost to myself is high and it has not been a route to releasing my 'true potential'.

Whenever I hear this stuff it makes me think of 1950s housewives in the US, with a white picket fence and dinner on the table by 5pm. What people don't know is that many of them regularly took tranquilizers and other drugs to stay motivated.

Everyone is different. If that is the life you want, then you'll thrive. If it isn't, you'll destroy yourself just because it's someone else's idea of perfect.

I love my son but I really struggled with my loss of identity when I first had him.

I was no longer "me" but a mum. It took me a while to come to terms with that.

I can only imagine this is or was said as a reason for not meeting you .

Who cares what a stranger thinks based off of the most shallowest way of judging a person their appearance.

It is what it is so much of this world is about fantasy fulfilment so the shallowest thing of all how someone looks with their clothes on and off is to going to play a massive role in how people pick for their fantasy .

You don't fit the vision in their fantasy minds eye that doesn't mean in the flesh that they would not find you attractive or when it come to mental stimulation a turn on .

It just means you don't fit the vision in their fantasy of what the other person should look like,

Just smile and move on its not such a big deal in the grand scene of life i.

Its hardly life and death being called not a real woman based on your body shape its just one persons opinion their entitled to it it doesn't mean their right or wrong it just means your not fitting the vision in their fantasy that's all.

I would say having a vision of what a person should look like for the rule you want them to fill is a recipe for lots of disappointing sexual encounters because your forgetting about how much someones personality plays in sex but hay I would say that being only 5 8" and far from tall dark and handsome .

Like I said it is what it is just a part of this crazy mad world that is sex meets .

I'm sure you in box is full of messages saying you look great ( which you do by the way ) and dare I add the idea real woman for a lot of peoples fantasy meet out their .

Oh sorry you mean the media's attempts to pigeon whole what a woman should be or guys using their mothers as a template for how a real woman should be .

Yes i can see how that can be annoying for a woman but its the same for us guys .

I say sod them all and be yourself individuality show be encouraged in my opinion instead of conformity that society preachers in a attempt to control the human condition .
