"Apparently, a swan has arrived at Slimbridge 25 days earlier than any swan has ever arrived before. It augers a long hard winter ahead of us as the swans fly ahead of the cold weather. I am beginning to think it's time for the not so summery duvet and maybe the heating should go on two weeks early. Is the swan wrong? " 2 weeks early ?! Ours has been on for weeks already. It's grim up north

" England is a weird place. It rains in the winter instead of snowing...and you determine the length of your winter via swan instead of groundhog. I'm going to get another sweater. -Courtney" Surely you mean jumper. Speak bloody English woman!

"nature and its animals usually know what's going on, the squirrels where we walk have been stocking up at a faster rate than most of us have seen before.. and the birds are doing similar in our garden.." So you're with the swan on this?

It was really cold and a bit windy at Tai Chi (outdoors) this morning though and I haven't really managed to warm up since.

"I'm inclined to follow those who use massive supercomputers and their expertise to predict the weather. And most weather experts believe that long range forecasting isn't that accurate. We know of systems like the el nino effect, that impact on weather in specific ways but I think a swan - if it's flown in from another country, may be revealing more about where it's left from. Maybe the queen was trying to catch and eat it. Anyway you lot, go overseas into the warmth. I'm about to book mine. Isle of Man sounds interesting, it's full of blokes." It sounds like it only has one bloke.

Was the swan early then?" you may be wrong their in the Caribbean if we Wana know when a hurricane is coming we look at the birds no birds equals hurricane and I'm my 20 Years there when sometimes the weather forecast are wrong the birds never are ....

No it's not wrong, it's just a swan, I don't ask it for advice on the stock exchange either or who's gonna win the rugby world cup... Birds migrate for lots of reasons, hardly any of them are to do with the weather! Some people are jumping on the largest el nino is history, which seem to have a causation with cold European winters and going aha... Look swans and squirrels .. So let's get back to what we do know... You lot are causing weather patterns to change from your carbon causing lifestyle! Forget the swans and the fucking squirrels and concentrate on science and your lifestyle
