Does anyone else notice symptoms of this in themselves? I noticed that I was feeling it around this time last year... though for me it's different to actually feeling depressed. With S.A.D I tend to do something nice for myself and it improves things

I get it in January and February when the dark really starts to grind me down. I hate it.

Brighton - even Hove!

Get daylight light bulbs and sit in the sunroom. Maybe a uv lamp of some form?

I use the dark nights as a excuse to get in bed early

I have no idea, I'm *apparently* a misanthrope all year round, but the other half got me one of those SAD lamps (which I carelessly kept switched on before reading the instructions [note to self: ALWAYS follow the instructions, even if you don;t follow them...] *apparently* you're only supposed to have them on for 30 mins a day, not two days straight).

And yeah, BOY was I zippy.

Gotta be careful with that shit.

I had one and my nan and step grandad, who are both psychiatrists, told me to ignore the instructions and spend 5 HOURS in front of it

I'm struggling with it a little at the moment, not adjusting easily to leaving to ride to work in the dark. Hoping it will pass

I usually struggle in January, short days, little natural light in my office, had dark commutes for 2-3 months by then, running in the dark means I can't get out on the trails and forced on the roads. And another couple of months before it gets any better. In the past, I've booked holidays/breaks in January to try and distract myself!

I struggle a little bit with it when the clocks go back and in deepest winter.

I find sitting close to a window helps when working and I always go out for a little wander at lunchtime - nothing too energetic just exposure to natural light helps......... I always go out shooting on Saturdays and spend as much time in the open as I can manage.
