"It's actually the anniversary of my Mum's death from Breast Cancer today so i'm absolutely doing it and encouraging my friends to. It may be silly but anything that raises a discussion about breast cancer and might get men and women to check themselves is totally worth it." where is the evidence though

Going braless after a mastectomy is an emotive issue. Many are lopsided and feel very different. If they wear a prosthesis then the bra is what holds it in place. Yes we should live in a society where people shouldn't feel uncomfortable but we don't. I've very anti this campaign. I think it's arisen from a sexualisation of an issue which shouldn't be about sexual identity or sexual appearance. There are other better campaigns.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good perv (yes OP I have perused your pics ) but on here of all places you don't need an excuse for a good lustful admiration session.

It'd be a boring world (and forum) if we all agreed all the time. I just dislike the sexualisation of so many things. And I'm saying that as a fully liberated and very sexual woman. In the case of breast cancer awareness those who have had treatment are left with very different breasts afterwards and a bra is a way to make one's appearance fit the norm if they're not ready to cope with questions or looks for being different. No bra day has been co-opted for this campaign, it was never planned for it.

"Breast cancer is a very emotive subject in my family too. However I think this is something which many women will avoid or be repelled by as a sexual method of awareness. A really good campaign to encourage women to attend their mastectomy appointments would be better."

If people talk about something, it brings it to the forefront of their mind and therefore there's a small percentage who would then thin, 'oooh i'll just have a quick check' which wouldn't otherwise have happened.
